I still have my CoCo2 - it's the same one as the one featured here. Unfortunately, I don't have a display! We have 1 TV, but the RF ports on it died. It was my first computer that I owned, and it holds a special place in my heart. It's cool seeing it here!

Those RF modulators get loose on many different machines. Reflowing the solder points is always a good thing. I'd suggest reflowing the solder points for the joystick ports as well since those get a lot of wiggle from use, especially after all these years. As for the metal piece on the bottom you removed, that's a RF shield. Not technically needed, however if you use the computer near a cell/cordless phone, wi-fi/bluetooth connection, TV, radio, etc., you might want to keep the shielding in place. It works both ways, keeping RF interference from going out as well as in.

For sure. I usually get rid of most RF shielding but there's often a little pushback from folks. I wish I could have shown those weird solder points I fixed better on video, but I need to upgrade to a much better camera than what I can afford at the moment. Cheers!
