Absolutely! But I also want some more separation out of the master… Definitely feel like I could do it with 2-3 plugs including the God Particle. Loving the warmth though!

I agree.. however, JJ suggests to mix while using TGP on your mastering chain.. which might have you adjust your highs from start. Also he says the highs will rarely light up in green or remain consistent. I love highs myself… I wonder if you mix with it on would you find your highs shining.. per say lol. Take care.

Been using this thing for two months. Changed my mastering approach completely. Its definitely my quick finish plugin. Just turning it on makes things sound so pretty. THIS THING GOES GREAT WITH EVERYTHING! I use it to bring my "finished mix", up to average -14LUFS, then add C6 multiband comp and EQ AFTER the God Particle to button up everything neater and slightly more separated. Worth the money definitely.
@RadiumRecordsHollywood
@RadiumRecordsHollywood 7 ай бұрын
Absolutely worth every penny... I would recommend you keep it very last in the chain though, the adaptive limiter should stay last and is great with machine learning the lowend. Try popping the C6 BEFORE TGP to shape it on the way in, then use gain staging to get the most out of the final limiter.

I've been mixing into this plugin ever since I bought it, and I must say , it has saved me a lot of time. I’ve been using the GP a while now. I think a lot of people are confused: this isn’t a mastering plugin. It’s for that newer in-between gray area between mixing and mastering. There’s a blurred line between these steps and the GP is a great fit for that. Secondly, you’re only rarely ever going to hit that high end target. Joshua has said this. But if your air is going past the target, your machine x is fried - turn down those highs. It’s a great plugin just before you hand your mix off for mastering, but it can’t compete - nor is it supposed to - with a full and proper mastering chain.

I've been using the trial version for a few days now. Used in succession with other plugins I found its best use. It sounds good on its own, but I found it to be; if dialed in correctly, very useful in a 2buss or mastering chain situation. It certainly broadens the audio signal in a very pleasant way. Both mastering mixes you did sounded good and were different. However, your personal chain had a bit more depth.
@RadiumRecordsHollywood

Absolutely, Mitch! Yea, I go for depth and width in my mixes/masters... Just a personal taste thing. I like the mix to wrap around my head and be able to hear INTO the mix, don't think I can achieve that with this one plugin alone... Although, I wouldn't hesitate to try!

I like the output of your mastering chain over God Particle. I was partial to the former already from the beginning, as hearing your original mix I said to myself, "How is one plug-in gonna beat or even match the obvious clarity and craftsmanship exemplified in the original master?" Therefore, I am more interested in understanding exactly what went into your approach than spending a little more than $100 on that new plug-in. Thanks so much for sharing this information! 😃

Hey Brad. Great video. Listening through my little iPhone speaker very quietly your mix sounded far superior. I’ve just download TGP to demo and have used it for ten minutes or so. I think it’s amazing as long as you use an eq beforehand to brighten up the top end. Perhaps a maag eq 4 for the air band boost. Now that it’s a year since you made this video are you incorporating TGP into your mastering chain and if so with what other plugins and are those other plugins going in before or after TGP? If after then I take it you are bypassing the limiter on TGP? Also have you tried mixing into it from scratch?

Mastering is one thing I am not very well at. I don't like to take care about LUFS for spotify... youtube... soundcloud and generating several masters. Maybe, at some day I will 😉. Ok I tried the god particle a short time and compared it to a chain only using sonnox inflator and sonnox limiter at. After all I noticed that the god particle is doing some glue to the mix, that I don't reach by using the inflator, at all. On the over hand, I get cleaner basslines and shorter defined kicks with the sonnox limiter. But the interesting thing is, The God Particle, Inflator and Sonnox limiter in the chain plus bx_master (disabling the compression, setting mono to 110 and width to 10-20%). Sounds very good in my ears. However, I like the new plugin 😎 Look at what happens while using "tonal balance control" from izotope while playing with the god particle. Interesting, too.

I liked your Master Channel processing better for sure... Brighter, Lows had more thump, and the Mids jumped out more, however the God Particle could have been used more to the manner it was intended to be used. It's meant to be Mixed into from the start. The default setting is Joshua's overall goto settings under the hood, and the "Green Sections" are the optimal sweet spots for the plugin, which were all not met in this comparison. (Not to take anything away from your mix though!) The God Particle is a GREAT one plugin choice to enhance any mix when used right, but your mix does demonstrate that there is NO ONE PLUGIN GOD when it comes to creating a final finished product, when you know what you're doing! Honest speaking your chain was kinda wide and i felt the energy was all time up with subtle brightness and good amount of loudness without loosing that warmth that a track is supposed to be having. On other hand the God particle is focusing more on that warmth specially in mid range as you said the Jaycen Joshua is good in that but rolling out that highs does removes some life of the track and comparing the mid side your own chain definitely wins a point on that part and even the low end in your chain does have subtle warmth and saturation that is kinda showing some good vibes but in god particle its more like saturation on over all track making it loud with some parallel processing. Thats what i felt 🙌🙌

I like the results of your mastering chain a lot more. I felt as soon as you switched to the God Particle the vocal low mids seemed pushed too much, making them sound too processed, and cluttering their frequencies up too much with some of the percussion. I much prefer the more open sound of your master.

your master clearly wins hands down. god particle is essentially OTT for the the mix buss. if your using a mutiband in your chain this might be a good swap out, but why waste the money if you already own OTT or FF Pro MB?

I think it’s primarily meant to be mixed into. Obviously, you’ll run into problems comparing it to a chain tailored for that particular mix. Great plugin I reckon.

@@RadiumRecordsHollywood I couldn't sleep last night thinking about how much separation YOUR mix had and why it sounded so much cleaner AFTER your master process not the god particle master (did you do the mix as well) - the only thing I could come up with is the way you apply mid-side eqing on the master. I was gonna ask you how then I saw you have a master class for 19 bucks, really? I want masters that sound like yours ... at least knowledge that gets me closer. Gonna sign up and see if you give the goods or hold back ;O)

jaycen joshua is a mixing engineer, not a mastering engineer ...he claims he used the tgp on all of his in-the-box mixes the last years and recommends to use tgp in the mixing session as the only plugin on your masterbuss, without changing the settings and then start mixing into it...tgp is intended to be treated as a mixing console that has a specific mojo...after you did your magic and finished your mix, you print out the finalmix and start your mastering session or send the final mix file to a professional mastering engineer you can trust, who does his magic to finalize the song ....of course it's music so you can do whatever you want if you're happy with the endresults but tgp is meant to be a one stop mixing chain but not a one stop final mastering chain

Because mastering is the final stage for a song to be released to whatever distribution platform you chose… Even Jaycen says his masters have been distributed, which makes it tor mastering.

Your chain was definitely better, the God Particle just never really gives enough high end sparkle, and maybe that's something to do with the balance between the input gain and limiter section, but your master definitely had better separation and distinct frequency definition. God Particle ain't bad though compared to the price of your chain...

Your mix sounds more thicker and louder. The Particle slightly thinner and a little clinical. More time spent on this Particle plugin I imagine would be good. It sounds an it has potential.
