Just a little tip if you want to show transcoding. There is an animated movie called Bug Buck Bunny. It is licensed under Creative Commons and can be downloaded from the Blender homepage in various formats and resolutions in 30fps and 60fps. So you don't have to overlay the movie to avoid a copyright strike.

Thanks for passing on the tip Andreas. I'm guessing any of the videos from the Blender Institute would work, though Big Buck Bunny does seem to be used more for this testing than the others (partially because it's been out for so long and people are used to seeing it).

The crash at 4k60 HEVC is probably due to out-of-memory. 1G RAM is too little for this use case.

What were the transcoding setting you used in Jellyfin? VAAPI? RKMMP?
@jackipiegg5 ай бұрын
10:06 Please do, tried that distro on my orange pi 5 plus and transcoding never works.

How did you control the overheating of the 3E? I have both a 3E and 3W and they BOTH get above 50C when active, which is above the threshold for throttling. The second either my 3E or 3W goes above 50C, the performance drops off due to the throttling. Yes, I have similar heat sink setup.

Hard to believe that this little SBC is more powerful, than the old Pentium P4 computer, I'm still hanging on to. Can this board play the 4k HEVC SDR video, natively, without transcoding?

Hey, have 2 tried simultaneously multiple streams? And what is the step up from this (which board)? This is great don't have to keep a x86 powered on all the day.

Hi can you explain a bit, with this setup right now, does it allow you to let say go outside of the local network, and get access to all of your videos in Jellyfin?
@GrafickStudios4 ай бұрын
No, but if you do port forwarding on your router, you could access your Jellyfin server when you're outside your home. However, you should really consider using SSL on top of that so your ISP doesn't see your traffic.

What’s the minimum arm spec (if any) that can do “quality” 4k like Dolby vision and maybe 80Mbps? Very cool video btw, thank you

Can you try openmediavault with 2 hd on usb type-c?

Hi, where you find the heat sinks? Thanks
@GrafickStudios3 ай бұрын
Officially, Radxa makes a heatsink for the 3E and 3W but I can't really recommend it. I prefer a generic copper set made for the Rpi4.

I've found that certain chipsets like from jms go to sleep after a while. My cheap Asmedia sata usb adapters have been working really well in comparison. I know there are tricks to keep the hdd on, but none worked for me except changing adapters.
@anh4133 ай бұрын
@@GrafickStudios I think the problem lies in the sata to usb adapter firmware as I have updated the firmware on mine and noticed in the update tool there is an idle timer tab.

Thanks for great video? But how did you setup you JellyFin? Did you give any permissions to /dev/xx devices? These devices are responsible for decode/encode. Please make a video how dud you setup JellyFin on server image. Dietpi can easily do it... But container setup vary a lot as Yamls are very different for each setup
