What happens when you don't what a curb tile to be a curb tile after your epic battle laid out in city streets? What if I want that sidewalk to now be a dungeon floor? Or that street to be ruined brick flooring? Look no further for such solutions.

I think if you apply pva glue to the opposite side of the foam after the air dry clay dries it may straighten back out. Works for thinner foam and cardboard

I have an idea that might turn out to be quite interesting if it would work: When your clay dries, what is the finished density? I am looking for a medium that will not crumble if used in stamp-fashion on insulation foam or foam-core board. Additionally, I would love to know the actual shrinkage ratio. Does the packaging for the clay give any indication of this (%)?
@sweetnerevar3509
@sweetnerevar3509 8 ай бұрын
Ah this is pretty neat I never would of thought to use the clay to make stamps for other clay surfaces :) This is a lot more useful for me over the pond in the UK because it's hard to get affordable or good quality sheets of foam. Now what if I skip the foam entirely and use Clay to cast my clay stamps for clay texture tiles >:3

Ah that's good to know that these tips are regionally impactful! I would be happy to think I might have inspired clay-ception here haha.

A 3d printer and can easily print free stamps for impressing a larger variety of materials... that don't need so much post processing... or just 3d print the tiles themselves... Buying a 3d printer is a better long term time/monitary investment than all the other crap needed for a more "crafty" strategy. Regardless your approach was fun to watch.
@raecheldoes
@raecheldoes 8 ай бұрын
I do agree that in general and for long-term, a 3D printer would absolutely negate the need for this process, but realistically not everyone has the means or space to acquire a printer, so this is a creative option for some!

Tip for those trying Polymer clay - dust your stamps lightly with corn starch - that'll stop the sticking. Just be careful not to put too much and obscure your stamps. :)

As someone who is driven mad by repeating patterns, I love this. Sure, its a handful of stamps but the fact each can be turned means exact repetitions are going to be rare. Especially when you take into account natural warping as the clay sets. Thanks for posting!
