He is probably the best example of maximizing everything he has by channeling all this energy into positive feelings and not dwelling in negativity. The self control over such a long period especially considering his style of play is unreal.

Always been my favourite. Such a great mentality and perspective, and both Djocovic's and Federer's main rival. How he got all those Grand Slams is incredible enough, but with the amount of injuries he had to overcome through that entire time too it's just ridiculous. Not just tennis, he's definately one of the greatest sportsmen of all time too.

Mamy people say roger or nick are the most talented players but to give you your absolute best in every match eith the atitiude he has is impossible to have nobody in tennis or any other sport has a person who can give his best always. He had a great career. Respect to him and what he has done love him and all his rivals. Today the sport lost a legend

In sports, there are those that are the sprinkle on top of the cream. Mohammed Ali, Ayrton Senna and Rafa Nadal. Not only are they sublimely magnificent, but they are also great warriors and huge personalities. I have always called Rafa "Crazy Horse" for good reason. The courts are not the same without you.

He was the best warrior as he had federa and Noel to fight against but he done it his way at the beginning I thought he was just like a boxer coming into the arena but when he played his tennis he was always the best defender against both in front federa and following Noel it was always hard for him but he made it without complaints truely he did respect his appointments great player like federa also Borg and some other greats but he did behave himself very well a gentle man well deserved retirement no nonsense enjoy your life and family now ❤❤❤

For mental strength in tennis, the same principle of Buddism that you only live in the present moment applies, which means you forget about past points, you don't worry about future points. You only think of playing the current point. I remember in the movie Troy, when Hector said to Paris before his duel with Menalaus, "you think of your sword, his sword, and nothing else." That's how we should play every tennis point. There's only your racquet and the ball coming at you. Nothing else. Djokovic did a lot of meditation to practice just this.

@@Komorebineeded Nadal hasn't been able to win a single set off Djokovic on hardcourt in over 11 years. Lost 19 in a row (as well as no match wins anywhere off clay).. He was literally Djokovic's easiest hardcourt opponent on the tour for more than a decade. Never won more than 1/2 the HC Big Title non-slam events on the annual ATP Tour - no ATP Finals, no Miami, no Paris Masters, never won in Shanghai. Davydenko thrashed "prime" Nadal 6-1 on hardcourt.

With all due respect to the legend of the game, All I can say people should be true to express the emotions, not to hide it in the name of portraying good guy media image. Sport is all about making records and breaking records and expressing emotions on the field if any. In this aspect, Djokovic stays true to his emotions and other factors I feel.
