Outstanding....great music... why don't we have music like this in Hollywood, TV or radio today.... Mucho gracias for loading this onto KZbin..... I met Rafael in the mid 1950's in Pueblo, Colorado... I could not play up to his level... :) Outstanding. Wonder what happened to his sons.

I REMEMBER THE FATHER AND SON'S, PLAYING FOR OUR SCHOOL, IN EITHER JR. HS OR SENIOR HS IN CULVER CITY, CA. THEY WERE GREAT AND I REMEMBER THEM AS VERY NICE. I THINK THAT RAFAEL MENDEZ PLAYED THE HORN FOR PANCHO VIA, WHEN HE WAS VERY YOUNG, DURING THE MEXICAN REVOLUTION.

Incredibly hard to sustain this double- tonguing, but Mendez was the best, ever....linkletter gave l.s.d. a bad name, but I'd rather trip than try to play this polka...better yet, I'll trip while hearin this on you-tube!

Both Mendez sons became transplant surgeons in Los Angles (they operated on my sister and me). Robert Mendez was an emergency Dr. on duty in LA the night that Robert Kennedy was shot at the Ambassador Hotel. There is a great letter in his office from Ethel Kennedy commending him for doing such a great job in trying to save Kennedy's life.

desde musica vernacula,jazz,jazz, big band su tecnica es reconocida por conocedores hasta la fecha, gran maestro e innovador, cada que se mas de el es mayor mi admiracion triunfo en el mundo, y pensar que humilde y modestamente acompaño al dueto azteca, en dos palomas al volar, la rosa y el jazmin etc. siendo que el ya tocaba con grandes bandas,informense en wikip.
