@Jensen HARGREAVES Federer has the best public image for charity and stuff because he also commercialises himself for doing so (nothing wrong) Rafa and Novak do that too, but Rafa is the biggest gentleman in tennis history, never said anything bad about anyone, never threw a tantrum or anything like it. The GOAT tittle is debatable but the biggest role model and gentleman in this sport is Rafa by far and to me that's why he is the GOAT because there is more to it then on court results (which he also has)

Katherine Sparkes to have 20 GS when you are excellent on clay or grass is twice more difficult than to win on hard court. Not only that. To play on clay is the most difficult of the three as it requires much more technique, mental strength and strategy as you cannot rely so much on your service. That is why he is the best even if Federer has a more refined technique. That and because his injury struggles and his come backs and his humility and his attitude on and off court. Federer was playing tennis 5 years without facing an strong opponent. In fact, Rafa lost 2 Wimbledon Finals before he defeated him in 2008. Federer won one RG because Nadal was out with injury. It is like Thiem’s US open victory without the Top 3.

@@juanmartin8753 Shut up. Djokovic has better mental strength than the grunter. Talk about records...Djokovic doesn't just eclipse all of Nadal's achievements (of course except clay which Nadal relies on) but also outperforms in terms of all surfaces. Throughout his career he has faced opposition from fanboys like you. More slams, weeks at #1 (doubled it in fact), he has 40 masters titles, has more year end titles and wins over Federer and Nadal. Now, you can go ahead and say that I am just spewing stats at you, so before you began your roid rage, I'll cram some facts up your ass. Djokovic has supported improved education in Serbia by direct donations and has a foundation with his wife to continue this. He also guided young players to play in the ATP Next Gen organization. Did you even muster up the energy to watch some of the interviews, events, etc. with the other ATP players? It is especially amazing that he has now won Roland Garros an amazing 13 times, which is one of the greatest achievement in sport. I also congratulate his team, because nobody can do this alone. Almargo said it best "Rafa will win Roland Garros 40 years in a row... he'll be 65 and still be winning at Roland Garros". That was back in 2008. As a Rafa fan, I am so proud of his achievements. Everything was against him winning this year's tournament - he hadn't won a warm-up tournament leading into Roland Garros for the first time in his career, the cold, wet weather and heavy ball would neutralise his natural advantages, and the seemingly invincible Novak Djokovic who owns a winning record (29-26) over him would be too much for him to overcome. I just love how Rafa rises to the challenge and overcomes adversity each and every time. Yes, there's been some heartbreaking losses over the years but I am never disappointed in being his fan. When he loses, he accepts it and moves on and comes back even stronger.

Djokovic is Undisputed goat of tennis sport and Rafael Nadal is one of the greatest tennis player in open era like other tennis players in open era. Rafael Nadal lacks atp finals titles with him which removes him from Goat race completely. Goat race is between Djokovic and Roger Federer in open era. Djokovic was a much later bloomer too and Ofc this doesn’t mean Federer can’t beat either of them these days (match point against Djokovic in Wimbledon 2019 for example) but it shows that he won most of his majors (15 or so) before Rafa (and then later Djokovic) truly started to dominate

I didn't know that. 79 vs 60 attempts is a huge difference actually. And Federer's early opponents were not nearly as tough as what Djokovic and Nadal had to play against. Neither Safin, nor Roddick were as dangerous as Wawrinka, Thiem, Murray when on his prime, etc.

If Rafa has played 60 slams instead of 70 or 80 as a result of injuries then that's his own doing. Maybe if he played a less physical brand of tennis then he'd have less chances of getting injured.Of course playing less physical tennis might mean less chance of winning those 20 that he has won.

A little young guy from Mallorca with a shy attitude and a humble pure heart yet with a world to conquer , small in his words and compassionate in his opponents after their defeats but on the court a matador ready to strike and show no mercy in his strokes . I was fascinated as a small kid ; the athleticism the fighting spirit and the mindset of never giving up had made me a fan instantly. From that moment on I knew who I was supporting ; tennis itself THE GOD OF CLAY . You are the greatest inspiration for me , you introduced me to tennis and the passion of the sport . Unfortunately for novak he totally outplayed and no answer to rafa's aggression. Too many unforced errors that caused him a lot's of trouble. Nadal won it again at age 36. Beating an in form Novak on the way. And Djokovic at 35 is making mincemeat out of his opponents at AO right now and hes in the SF, and every time hes reached a SF, hes won the title. @@VaisinI can't see him losing a Wimbledon match for another 2-3 years, perhaps 4. No matter the situation, last 4 years, he finds a way each time. In a 5+ hour battle vs peak Rafa (2018 SF) and facing multiple break points in the fifth? No problem for Novak. Down a set to a Brit (2018 R3 Edmund, 2022 SF Norrie, 2021 R1 Draper)? No problem. Down 2 match points to Roger? Not a problem. Not to mention 100% of the crowd was against Novak. Sun in his eyes too and he was returning Federer's serve. Then again crowds are never an issue for Novak. Down 2 sets to a guy 15 years younger? (Sinner 2022 QF) No problem. Down a set to Kyrgios (2022 Final) having never won a set vs Nick and never having broken his serve previously? No problem. Down a set to a guy undefeated on grass that season? (Berrettini 2021 final) no problem. Regardless of who defeats him, its gonna be a SEISMIC shock next time Novak loses a Wimbledon match. Makes Murrays win in 2013 all the more incredible that he managed to pull it off. Rafa's epic AO run isnt possible with Novak in Australia. But Medvedev was also in fantastic form and mentally in a great place, especially after coming from 2 sets and MP down vs FAA who himself had a great year. Rafa coming from 2 sets down vs a confident Medvedev was truly stunning given the circumstances. The tough 5 setter vs Shapo when Nadal won despite heat stroke. And being out for 5 months before. Only downside was that it destroyed Meddy's confidence. He hasn't been the same since.

After all the hype that Djokovic is technically better, has all the answers to every Nadal shot, and was expected to give Nadal trouble, Nadal dismantled Djokovic's game and announced once and for all that Nadal is, and has always been, the king of clay. Or should I say, god of clay.

Sagan8, I absolutely loved your comment on Nadal. I had so many ugly "Haters" and "Losers" send me ugly messages, after Nadal lost to Diego S. in Rome, that I teared up after his dominating victory over No.1-Djokovic. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED your comment. I am still celebrating against the Haters that I work with who dismissed Nadal and who are now watching me glow with this victory! More power to you, Sagan8!!

From Nole's fan: when I saw this highlites, I saw Nole was not too bad, just Nadal and his tremendous performance. I can not remeber when someone destroyed Nole like this. I was sure Nole will win, but I have to congrarulate Rafa, this is fuckin' unbelieveble, and I am really happy because him, he deserved that. He is good guy, very humble, big fighter, I like the way he plays, he is Nole's biggest rival, and I am happy to have an opportunity to watch these legends. Today, it was very difficult for me, but let Nadal enjoy his well deserved record-breaking trophy. Can't wait blockbuster number 57. All the best to all Rafa's fans!

Both players have so much respect for each other. If you see Rafa throughout the entire tournament, he always put the racket instead of a handshake when finishing his 6 previous matches. With Novak you can see he didn't even have the intention to do that. Great players.

Novak was a gentleman in the end. He told Rafa: " Man well done!". He understood - he played well, but it was not even close to being enough! 2020 was the single most dominant French Open win by Rafa next to his 2008 performance. He did not win his matches, he rolled over people like a tidal wave.
