this silence of the audience after last sound ... is moving.

A truly legendary performance of this Mazurka. It’s as though we were listening to Chopin himself. Thank you, Mr. Blechaz, for this absolutely beautiful expression of profound love.

It was a beautiful performance of Chopin's genius. He couldn't breathe when he was playing lyrical. The beautiful melody captivated my heart. His Chopin is really the best in the world.

@Ben Woodcock yes unfortunately that's true, I think people nowadays don't appreciate high lyricism (that is so reminiscent of the 20th century pianists) they simply deem this aesthetic as an outdated one, now, most pianists focus solely on the quality of the sound itself, that is, that tarnished, clean, almost commercial sound that is devoid of any wrong notes. Rafal blechacz however offers this high quality with a clean interpretation free of any mistakes and much much more, he actually offers true lyricism and poetic insight just like the old legends of the 20th century. His voicing and articulations are so profound and clear yet they are never forced, this makes whatever he plays sound completely new and fresh. But him being underrated is a fact that really saddens me, he is viewed as just another highly proficient contemporary pianist, while in my humble opinion he's much much more than that.

The great melody of the mazurka flowed under the genius' hand. It's tradition of performing Polish music, after great Rubinstein and Zimmerman.

This prelude, when perfected as Blechacz has here, gives me vertigo of the psyche. I'm not at all surprised re the audience's awkward silence after the performance; how the hell are you supposed to respond to hearing that? Sure, it's nice and traditional to clap, but... compared to the previous four minutes it seems irrelevant at best and downright gauche at worst. Chopin truly delivered something infeasible here. Fiercely, frightfully beautiful.
