One of the guys at my old military reserve signals unit used to love blowing ours up because he just *wouldn't* follow the tuning drill properly whatsoever. Some people got it right away - others...never did.

I know the GRC-106 like the back of my hand still today because I repaired hundreds of them while working 20 some years as a Civil Service Worker for the Government.
