This was actually kinda fun to watch? Usually when one guy has something as oppressive as two venser emblems the game is a chore to watch and play but the fight between you three and Doc was very back and forth till the end. Good games

I think the three other players had a lot of turns to do something about doctor Martin’s strategy, but unfortunately were 13 points of damage short of taking the good doctor out. Dr Martin started to take the lands out only at the end. I like dr Martin’s win strategy a lot better than turn infinite 2 card combo strategies. I’d like to give a big thumbs up for the deck building, strategy and kind of wins I see usually on this channel. And the editing as well. 20 minute fast action packed video for games which probably last at least thrice that.

Bohdan Yarema how is that a bad deal for the Ascension player? He had the mana open already to make two angels at the end of Andrew’s turn so he’s not out anything. He was also the only person with the ability to attack any walkers down. If Andrew keeps the disk around, I’d be happy to have an ascension. Ascension lets you put pressure on board without over extending into the disk. I feel like if I was the Ascension player I’d be the one asking Andrew to hold off and let me clear the walkers first since Andrew could eliminate my ascension and angels at will.

@@danriemer9724 it is a bad deal for Ascension player, because it creates situation where walkers are all 3 players' problem, but you are the only person spending resources to remove them. And after spending all these resources you would gain nothing for yourself, because disk would be popped, and all your angels would be gone. More than that, Erebos player can just play his God and simply draw more cards, advancing his wincon. When someone plays delayed wrath effect like disk, you need to don't care about it at all / have clear answer to it / pressure this player like hell to force him to blow it early. "Negotiate with terrorist" is not the correct way here. After all, as I already mentioned, if disk was popped in response to Tezzeret untapping lotus, there would be only one walker on the table and full turn cycle to prepare answers for it and future ones.

Bohdan Yarema I guess I disagree here. He could have made angels at the end of Andrew’s turn and killed Tez had the disk not been blown. Then with the ascension and disk on the field you aren’t really incentivized to cast anything else which allows you to hold up mana and make more angels. If Andrew let the ascension player kill Tez and blow the disk at the end step before his next turn the board state probably looks very similar minus one tezzeret, which I think would please everyone. Popping the disk on his own turn vs the ascension players really doesn’t do anything except take away the ability to pressure the walker. I think the ascension player, knowing he can lose his board at anytime, would be perfectly happy taking down a Tez. The issue with the delayed wrath here is that disk doesn’t clear everything. There is a clear threat that is going to be left behind after the disk goes, and the disk is going to take the pressure that could deal with the walker with it.

It was an entertaining match! I have played where a guy was running Daretti and blew up everyone's lands, so we rallied and beat him (twice). Other times an oppressive Tasigur deck had us all down and we were digging for answers, until someone decided to get second place and Kiki Jiki'ed the rest of us. Is Dr. Martin a proctologist because he went all up in you guys' asses, lol. #sorrynotsorry

I fail to see why people consider Dr. Martin's deck "degenerate"... it's not like his main game plan is to get Venser to ult twice and stop people from sticking permanents on the battlefield. It's rare to be able to activate even one planeswalker's ultimate, let alone two, and most of the time, it's the opponents' fault for giving someone that opportunity.

Man this game was so sad, watching three people go ham on one dude and can't stop him cuz one emblem alone is so OP it wins, but having two so its bascially GG. Definitely a battle of archenemy, but that happens from game to game. Not a good thing or a bad thing. Just variance. Yes, he had a pretty solid lock on the game, but the fact that you guys were willing to try and figure a way out of it was still good gameplay. You can only keep up so much gas for 3 on 1. He just beat you to the end. I know a lot of people are upset about the game, but I can definitely appreciate this. Not every game is going to be big swing and power shifts. Players have to learn to engage in all types of magic, even the difficult salt inducing games.

The way i saw it was if i switch it up to chainer, and put villis in the 99 i get access to the same engine and everybody else’s yards too and its been pretty nice

Yeah... blowing up the Disk when you did probably wasn't a good idea... maybe you should've made a deal: leave the Ascension there as long as Malcolm agrees to use the tokens for planeswalker management against Dr. Martin. Also, don't you run All is Dust and Oblivion Stone in your Erebos (now Villis) deck? They're good at handling planeswalkers too.

Not really... ultimate emblems are something you don't see very often, let alone two of them on the same player. If you manage to get an emblem from an ult, most of the time it's the opponents' fault for failing to keep your planeswalkers under control.

That disk use was pretty atrocious honestly. I know it wasn't intentional kingmaking, but it definitely handed the game to Doc on a silver platter. Vish Kal was in a position to bully those Planeswalkers and nobody else was really. I mean, wait until you see where the angels are getting sent before you pop the disk at the very least. It's not like disk won't pick up the angel tokens anyway at instant speed.
