Could have sworn Bruce takes bites out of any unarmored floor panel, not just the outside ones. I armored the outside before and he just started chomping the next outermost unarmored ones. Also, why have the advanced purifiers at all? You can just fill your water bottles at any tap from the water filters or storage tanks.

@@NecrochildK Late response but that was actually an 'old bug'. In the older versions before Chapter 2, Bruce DOES this, yes. It was not intended but the devs didn't fix it until recently. Now that they have, the material cost to coat your raft has dramatically decreased. In the past, rafts were built with the first floor completely plated from the 'inside out' to prevent Bruce from doing exactly that, biting the middle bits when the outer layer is coated.

Lovely boat and helpful video. One extra hint, though; the sprinkler's range extends half level below it, including the space directly below it, even through the floor. So if you raise the sprinkler half a level you can add another half level of medium planters, as well as wall-mounted small planters mounted as high as a full wall. Alternatively, if you keep the sprinkler on the floor you can add hanging planters to the ceiling of the room below it and they will be irrigated, which can be useful in having the grass sprinklers pull double duty by irrigating planters below it too.

I think a "remove connection to your anchor" or being able to build it higher up (as long as there's a direct connection to the ocean) would be a nice addition to the game, so you don't have to go to the ground floor to stop. With friends you can simply "call machine room", but still. One thing I just love in Raft, is to gather resources and build the raft bigger and better, gives a feelling of getting better and better. Only other thing I hope they add in the next big update, is a way to not having to change batteries, by fx. having a "generator" that's connected to machines, and it can be pipe connected to a fuel tank, so you don't have to check up on everythings battery, and with it, more electrical structures, such as electrical cooking station/grill and smelters.
@NickRoman2 жыл бұрын
Mikkel, Yeah, with a crafting game like this, you want to eventually get to the point of having little to no upkeep. That could be the real end-game. Having an awesome giant raft like this, but having to constantly run around doing stuff forever starts to feel a bit too much like real life. lol

I really really hope the final update includes blueprints for anchor controls! Just a little button to raise/lower so I don't have to sprint five floors down to stop. @@michaelharr9915 On that I have no doubt, though there are 2 things I would've critiqued though didn't - because everyone is entitled to their own style. I will give them here, as they're simple logic - though one is more a stylized opinion than the other on the functions of the Raft. 1 - Wasted Potential: A good number of the foundations on the inside could be collection nets, which would have 2 benefits. First is that more salvage would be gathered, and second would be there would be less foundations needing to be pushed by the engines (less engines needed, less biofuel/planks consumed for moving). 2 - High Ceiling; As I said, one is more a stylized opinion. Another option to cover with would have been the roof/platform/roof/platform pattern, but this is preference POV.

i used a few mods like item spawner but i recreated this raft using this video as a guide with the renovation update. Though i am still in the beginning of the game so the decorations and other functional stuff will be added later but the basic overall raft looks sweet. Good job on this raft brother i hope you come up with other sweet designs

I just found this video the other day and this might be the third time I'm rewatching it. I've uninstalled Raft since I finished the 2nd chapter but this is seriously inspiring me to try and get really creative with it. I hope it's ok to use the USS Overkill as inspiration

@@HavocGamingChannel Hello hello! I know that this comment is pretty dang old but, I just wanted to let you know that my redesign of my raft (that is now heavily inspired by The Overkill) is now done. There's a video on my channel, if you ever want to see it, but you don't have to. Just wanted to let you know that having your raft inspire me to go back to the game and really see how much I could do meant a lot. Thanks again for the wonderful content!

hey i really like using milk to create biofuel instead of watermelons, i have 20 goats for 10 refiners, and it works fine. Nice raft tho!

Are you able to do a full in-depth tutorial on how to build all this? Or has this been done already? I'd love to use this for my coop world with my friend and I. Or if you could at least give me the bottom dimensions for the bottom of the raft. Nice video overall!

2:15 Actually, you can turn waves off if they are too annoying: [Settings -> General -> Check The Box "Motion Sickness Mode"

Cool build. One thing I'd change, would be that I'd replace as much of the inner foundations to nets as possible. If only to reduce the number of foundations so you wouldn't need so many engines to move around. Would save a ton on bio-fuel. I wonder if it'd be possible to have such a huge raft run on less then 200 foundations? (2 engine max speed requirement)

She's a beauty. I did have a few questions, though: Why bother with the advanced water filters when you can just top your bottles off directly from a water tank spigot? And second: have you tried using eggs to supply your biofuel refineries? Your watermelon garden is lovely, but I have to think adding a few more chickens would be more efficient in terms of space and effort.
@HavocGamingChannel3 жыл бұрын
Good questions! I didn't know about the water tank at first. One hundred hours in, and I seemed to have missed that memo. As far as the eggs VS watermelons... I think it takes less time to create a bunch of biofuel with watermelons. It only take 1.5 watermelons to fill a biofuel reactor and it takes more like 10 eggs, so you don't spend as much time filling up the biofuel reactors as well.

I just watched your video, this work and outcome deserves a like and subscribe! Your raft is absolutely amazing my dude! I know this may be a long shot but would you ever consider sharing your save file of this? I would love to just hang out on this raft from time to time and study it from a closer look to see if I can recreate it on my own or make something similar.

Awesome Ship. My wife and I made a ship just a bit smaller in the design of a containership. Is all the planters that ring the outside for the seagulls? those birds are always a pain with a large ship the ussually eat a plant be the time i hear and make my way over to them. especially through multiple floors.

Have the waves always been high during storms or do they gradually get higher the bigger you're raft gets too? It didn't bother me at first but after about 20something hours of game time/building (and ours isn't nearly as big as yours) i can see that the waves almost fill your entire first floor walls, whereas we've only gone ahead and made those platform floors for the first level and the waves are already starting to wash up over those.. Does it only get worse? I also read that apparently its better to just build upwards instead of outwards to avoid it?
@HavocGamingChannel3 жыл бұрын
The waves don't seem to go above the first floor, regardless of the raft's size
@Trancephyre3 жыл бұрын
the waves can be turned off totally by switching motion sickness mode on
@Marcus_Postma3 жыл бұрын
Not sure if you knew this. An engine is needed for every 100 foundations up to 6. 6 engines will push any size raft, so more than that is not necessary. And if you want to reach the anchor from your steering, you can place it under it off to the side with a triangle hole to reach it from above.
@HavocGamingChannel3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the physics is a little strange. You can increase raft speed by operating more engines than necessary as well, I think up to 1.5x if I remember correctly. And good call about reaching the anchor from above through a triangle hole, I haven't tested that, but it sounds plausible, so I'll take your word for it!
@Marcus_Postma3 жыл бұрын
@@HavocGamingChannel yes but only up to 6. I use the anchor trick and it comes in handy. I picked that trick up from someone on the raft discord.
