In today's quick lesson @theraftingmagazineguy is talking about helmets and why you need to make sure the plastic Y device is so important to your safety. Helmets are designed with straps that cradle your head and proper placement of the chinstrap can around the helmet peeling back to reveal your forehead when whitewater catches the visor. The plastic Y bit in your cheek can move around a lot especially as the straps get wet then dry. Straps will shrink and expand so the pieces tend to slip around a lot on your straps. If you see friends with this piece near or below their jaw line just give them a friendly reminder so that when they swim they aren't exposing their forehead to injuries.
