The rap game knows that you can only get truly powerful lines from authenticity. And there was no band more authentic, more dedicated, more willing to stand behind and in front of their lyrics and their beliefs than Rage Against the Machine.

Saving this for last. I'd also recommend the covers by Denzel Curry, and by Brass Against.

Big up on Brass Against they get vocalists that can toe to toe with Zack.

Honestly I didn't like their cover. It's almost as bad as a jazzy version of Down with the Sickness. The original has a raw intensity you just can't recreate.

"Terror rains drenching, quenching the thirst of the power that dons that five sided fist-a-gon." "That rotten sore on the face of Mother Earth gets bigger, the triggers cold empty your purse." That's no joke of a verse about the MIC.

Morello's unique approach to guitar playing combined with Zach 's lyrics combined to form one of the most important bands to come out of the early 90s, the last era/breath of greatness from American rock music. The bands that sprouted out from 88-93/94 really took things into new exciting directions and I'm glad I was just old enough to get to experience most of it live at various shows as the whole thing was happening/evolving. Back then it seemed like people were just more willing to embrace and get excited for various genres of music. Nobody wanted to be identified as being one dimensional and you would go to cyphers in the park one night and then go to a club and jump into a pit the next. That got lost somewhere along the way and music in general was worse off for it. We're currently in the midst of a revival of the spirit of that era and it's making this an exciting time to be involved with music again, this time for me on a professional level after years of just sort of going through the motions like a regular job.

Tom morello. One of that generations most important guitarists. The shit he could make come out of a guitar makes your hair stand on end. I say last generation because I haven't seen anyone new that can do shit like that
