10:34 That's right, Cotton. There's a big difference, in both entertainment and function, between the inferior bits-on-sticks and the superior specifics of heads-on-sticks
@E4rlLanajaАй бұрын
Worlds' greatest mistake was changing the MH design philosophy of "the monster's tail but sharpened into a giant sword" to "It's a sword with bits of the monster". Which is why MH Rise, despite being objectively inferior to World, was still enjoyed by many players because they brought back the body part on a stick design philosophy.

I'd like to point out that the other little orbs on Xeno's face aren't supposed to be a "Scare away predators" thing. They're external organs that let it absorb more energy from the environment to grow.

This is now making me think of that one great jagras mod that spat out a sapphire of the emperor whenever it opened its mouth

Fun fact, there are in fact, Blue Emeralds. They are emeralds that are rare and are thought to have formed with a blue hue due to the presence of iron, not just chromium and vanadium (the two elements that give emeralds their green coloring). And yes, they are different from sapphires because of their chemical and crystal structures. Simply put, Blue Emeralds are a variety of beryl. And Sapphires are a type of corundum. And while aquamarines are also part of the beryl family, they do not have chromium in them. And Blue Topaz get their color due to being heat-treated. And obviously lacks the chromium and vanadium found in blue emeralds. The more you know.

6:51-6:54 depends on which dragon you speak of. if it's the modern fantasy dragon, then yes, Safi'jiiva has a damn close resemblance to one. if it's our own (including fairy tales), then Fatalis bears the stronger resemblance.

@TheIdealofGreedАй бұрын
23:39 Hm, I can see the shed skin remnants of Xeno, ergo ("in-game") why these particular rocks survive the Sapphire 27:22 Oh, I don't think I noticed they light up before
@wigglerrave4020Ай бұрын
I keep seeing people cite that, but I highly doubt a few strands of the stuff would provide any meaningful protection, even if it does work on the logic people say it does (the skin absorbs the energy and thus can mitigate damage from the attack). I believe the real reason is that the rocks in the final phase are very weathered, visibly so. The game even calls them weathered rocks.
@TheIdealofGreedАй бұрын
@wigglerrave4020 You're gonna have to explain that, as weathered means "worn down(typically by weather)", so how would less of a rock better survive a massive explosion then the surround walls that get blown away, with as far as I can see, said shed skin being the only difference between the two?
@wigglerrave4020Ай бұрын
@@TheIdealofGreed Those rocks on the bottom layer are likely brittle and much more easily broken than the ones on the layers above. Just look at them. They’re full of holes and have distinct layers. I’ve seen rocks that look something like that myself, and they are indeed brittle and the layers come apart into separate slabs with little effort. Of course, the ones you hide behind on the bottom layer of the Secluded Valley are larger, so they can take some more punishment. And I don’t know what you’re saying with the walls.
@TheIdealofGreedАй бұрын
@wigglerrave4020 Okay, I looked at (some of) the bottom layer rocks, and I'm not seeing any of the holes you mentioned. Also noticing they don't seem to have the shed skin. The walls are talking about the massive, as in several times larger then Safi itself, walls & pillars of stone that surround the bottom layer and are blown away by the first Sapphire, right before they're going on about the glowing river, hence the "he bursted it"
@wigglerrave4020Ай бұрын
@@TheIdealofGreed Well, I guess what I meant to say is they look porous. Also, the walls there are still made of the same weathered rock. The ones above are simply sturdier.
