@@LegendGamer-qi5tr There aren't many they could add sadly. The Crabs, Plesioth and maybe Seltas Queen. And then there are only Jyuratodus, Coral Pukei Pukei, Tetranadon, Namielle and Almudron left. Namielle would be the only Endgame Monstie of those.

Take this with a grain of salt obvs, but I believe there was a leak for a stories 2 expansion. Looked to be a fairly sizable g-rank type of expansion as well. Im gonna give it 6 or so months before i actually grab stories for myself, if i hear nothing of the expansion before then, then Ill grab it. If we do get news of the expansion, Im going to hold off until the hopeful discount for both versions together.

Something to balance the meta I'd say. Is Abyssal Lagiacrus for a endgame lightning monstie, Valstrax as a endgame dragon element monstie, And Namielle for a actually good endgame water monstie. Namielle and Valstrax specifically because of the lack of good Dragon/Water monsties.

I genuinly would enjoy that switching weapons idea... Probably because I am a fan of Charge Blade and Switchaxe but shhh. It is a good idea. Besides this I genuinly would enjoy a new switch wepaon that combines a melee and ranged mode... something like a Dualblade (or I guess Dual Axes considering the theme so far) and bow.

So a that’s like a charge blade and a switch except it’s dual that turns into a bow or possibly a crossbow instead with bolts that explode a little after they hit the target kinda like sticky ammo from bowguns but a little faster like the discharge elemental explosions from charge blade.

As someone who is adopted I would like to chime in that in this system josh describes, it is in fact the child that is gambling. While the adopters are using the claw machine how good those adopters are as parents is the real gamble. There is an argument for how important nature is to how a child turns out but nurture definitely means you can for the most part have basically the child turn out the way you want, if you aren't featured on r/insaneparents, but as a child you are randomly getting your lifestyle and comfort level chosen. I guess thats how it it works when your born... So would this be a reroll? Actually nevermind that is a good idea. Sad that the kids cant see what's going on and choose to reroll. I guess the cost of the reroll for the kid is abandonment issues but sometimes it's worth it.

There's a Monster Hunter clone called God eater which does feature two weapon hunting. You pick a melee weapon, and a ranged weapon, and switch between the two at the press of a button. Greatsword that turns into a shotgun? Sure Rail gun that turns into a scythe? Sure. It's pretty neat, albeit not as polished as Monster Hunter.
