The only way to get your Seikret to slow down or move forward is R1/R2 but if you’re not auto tracking a monster then you can freely move around with your analog. If you’re automatically moving towards a monster you can just take your hands off and let the Seikret go there for you

​@birumerah2896 Elder Dragons are actually not defined by being dragons. Just that they're extremely long lived, powerful beasts. Leviathans, Dragons, Serpents, etc have all been Elder Dragons. Look at Kirin as am example. Just a horse, nothing dragon like about it

You can't change face shape or features shape in the tent. Just colors and hair styles and makeup. Which has been an option in both World and Rise. To change up your character's facial structure, nose, eye shape, moutch shape etc. You need to choose edit character from the character select menu. You'll have unlimited character vouchers for the beta in order to do so.

I found a campsite in the caverns. U can also grab items with slinger while swimming underwater. Fishing feels almost the same at world but u gotta lure the fish more then letting it sit for a fish to grab. Some are shy and skittish but others will only go after a lure after moving the lure.

Bleeding pods are great to hit weak points. U can find bleed pods on the little alligator monsters by the streams in middle of windward plains

I adore that They added arachnophobia to the game. I have played almost every monster hunter game and anytime I have to face nercylla or rakna or any others, it feels like the penicale of fear from just seeing an image; usually resorting to having my friends fight it. I didn't want to have an aversion to playing wilds, and this helps a lot, even if I have to eventually fight lalabarina ( or rather my friends will have to fight lalabarina). The most annoying thing is that phobias are irrational, so it doesn't matter if you know something cant hurt you, you cant rationalize it, its just stimulus and heavy visceral reaction; and thankfully I will be able to experience less dread

The lightning rods all over the map are dragonators. You can see the spinning serrated parts if you under the oasis that tired monsters sometimes go to when they are tired.

They had already sold me with the idea of the game just being an upgraded version of World. But the character creator being so in depth is just the perfect icing on the cake. I can spend hours alone on the creation screen before actually hopping into the game itself.

Something I noticed is that you can gather temporarily 3 extracts with Insect Glaive by using the Kinsect Charge Move. It's pretty useful.

Playing the beta, I think it looks and plays amazingly. The new focus mode and hit effects are super satisfying (especially as a hammer main). That being said, there are a few minor graphical flaws and frame rate issues.. as there is to be expected with a beta of course. I'm sure they will be fixed in the final product. It is a beautiful game and I'm looking forward to February.

so the stars above their heads signify their individual difficulty when compared to their own species (aka max health and damage inflicted I assume) while the field surveys work as normal with the difficulty of the quest (aka 2 blue star = low tier ez hunt, like comparing a diablos to Alatreon)

I am pretty sure we will be able to use the "character editor" from the tent for free in the full game. It doesn't have all of the options and we had the same feature in World. We will only need a ticket for completely redoing the character via the titlescreen.

Getting the crew together for hunts is so much easier when compared to World. Very grateful for that. And the seemless hunts makes it easier to get a few of my buddies to try Monster Hunter in general. The pacing was way too slow for new players in World and the forced cut scenes were a nightmare.

There's some performance issues frame drops with performance mode activate, and monsters just pausing mid fight. Also Skin tones are a little weird. I have a white character with a slight tan in character creator as to not be a pale ghost, but in game he was just straight up brown. These are the only issues I've personally encountered.

MH Rise has the same mechanic for gathering extracts because of Wirebugs. You'll get used to it. Also, you can use Kinsect Charge to gather 3 extracts.

This is my first time playing a Monster Hunter game. I saw the trailers and the weapon showcases and thought I'd jump in. I absolutely had a blast in the beta. However, I am not sure which is the right weapon for me. I tried the longsword, and it was cool. The CB was really great, and the HBG blew me away. However, I'm not a good player with any of these. I was able to hunt a lot of Balaharas, Doshaguma, and Chatacabras. I tried soloing Raydau, biggest mistake. However, I was able to beat 2 with online players. What weapons would you recommend for a newbie?

Do you mean focus attacks? The one you do towards wounds? If so then you can do them for every wound you inflict on a monster. So not strictly a cooldown but you gotta create a wound first before using them effectively (you can still just do them without hitting a wound they just suck then lol)

Is it just me or does this map feel smaller than I was kind of expecting? I thought it would be maybe 20% bigger than it is if not more and with a lot more hidden areas. It was always one of my favorite things in world to explore the maps and find the hidden caves and stuff like that with just animals in them and gathering places that are too small for monsters to go into. It might just be how fast you can get around on the mount but I feel like the ancient forest map in world is bigger than this by a good margin and I was hoping every map would be bigger than anything in world. Lastly this map is very flat with only one small underground area 🤷 but I still very much love this demo and can’t wait for the full game

Though what they usually do for base game betas is add the flagship monster to fight in the 2/3 beta so once they roll around we might be able to fight it. Otherwise we currently can fight Chatacabra, Doshaguma, Balahari and Ray Dau

2:23 Not quite. It's limited to Hair, Eye Mouth/Voice and Clothing. You can't edit your Body and Faceshape.

Hey can somebody answer this for me? I watched footage of the beta for a Rey Dau hunt and the materials everyone obtained were high rank materials and that was a 3 star quest, does this mean that Wilds doesn’t have high rank?

I mean the Gem from Ray Dau I got was rarity 7 so unless they for some reason changed the way rarity works it would make sense that rarity 1-6 also exist. I could imagine they had them drop high rank mats as a failsafe in case people somehow get access to the smithy so they couldn't craft stuff. Also armour and stuff is rarity 1 I believe so I wouldn't worry

Pressing up just puts you on the ride. Pressing right puts you on and auto swaps

Pressing up puts you in auto mode, and pressing down puts you in manual mode (if you just want to explore)

Change the settings and manual is exactly that, it uses the same left stick and dash buttons as your hunter, and never moves automatically unless you toggle the auto button

They’re always bloated in the demos. None of the armor in the beta have any damage up skills besides bombardier yet most of all the weapons still do pretty great damage.
