i also saw one when i killed a small monster in desert area & watched the corpse decay nothing ate it , but it still decayed into a bone pile & it was the one that has a scissor looking mouth

A couple of extra things. Barrel bombs we found in the beta there is no way to put them away once taken out. Sneak attacks you can do one anytime the monster is not paying attention to you. this is not limited to the first hit or the terf war. You can do another one every time the monster leaves the zone.

There should be a ice area because in the beta, we had cool drinks and hot drinks. Cool drinks probably for the oil basin and hot drinks for the icy area.

I don't know about the large monsters, but I had a Ceratonoth turn into a Bone Pile during the beta. The name that popped up was "Bone Pile (Ceratonoth)"

On the topic of packs, I would love to see a duo of Rathalos and Rathian. We've had quests with both in them, but they functioned more like independent monsters on the same map. It would be cool to see them more coordinated. I'm thinking like what we got with Teostra and Lunastra in the World, with their attack together on an even more coordinated scale.

SO FOR THE DECAYING MONSTERS BONE PILE. I have harvested from a dead monster bone pile. I think it wasnt working well in the beta due to the fact that we are forced to play online everytime which changes our instance everytime we play. Hopefully when we play on release on our local machines, it saves/remembers our instances so that monsters we killed will still be there. I also think the decaying process differs in the size of the monsters, smaller ones turn to bone pile quicker than the larger ones. So yeah, Im beyond excited for this game and to be playing it even solo.

Can’t wait for this game. And yes the decomposing into skeletons is a thing, had it during the beta a lot. Once you leave the area and come back after awhile, it triggers. It’s finicky tho.

From the recent datamine leak it classifies the switch axe monster as a leviathan and the apex is also a leviathan also apparently there is an ice cephalopod

The smaller monsters would decay over time and I explicitly remember mining bones from one of them. I'm not sure why this didn't apply to the larger monsters, could be a beta thing

Nah. I doubt it. As much as everyone wants a complete game, it would be in their (and ours? to prolong longevity) best interest to continue dishing out "Ultimate" versions/DLC.

Most MH demos have you playing in Highrank if I'm not mistaken. Also it wouldn't make sense to completely get rid of low rank and get rid of that crucial area for new players to ease into the game and its mechanics before dumping them into highrank.

So there’s actually 6 maps 5 basic maps one being the snow map and another area called the wall then the last one is the final boss arena…and the returning monsters are rathalos, extinct Rathalos, rathian, yian garuga, seregios, fulger anjanath, extinct fulgar anjanath, gore magala, gypceros, and last but not least NERSCYLLA…and also in a later DLC we are getting Mizutsune and Zinoger….what do you guys think about this returning monster roster?
