Great videos. Love your Mi8 stuff. Question... why are Non-Directional Beacons called that when that's literally all they give? Been wondering that for a while.

Is there no way to navigate using VOR / ILS in this?

Nope! Your only other option is GPS nav with the NS430 add-on.

@@vsTerminus I guess in a helicopter you can always land and ask the locals for directions 🤔

Yea! Just land on the highway and someone will have to help you if they want to get by! On a serious note, though, the region these helos operated in were littered with NDBs, and you'll find it's very easy to get around on the Caucasus map. Meanwhile in other maps it can be quite challenging. Exported versions of the Mi-8 are made-to-order and pretty configurable so I imagine if you wanted VOR capabilities it would be no trouble. Not sure about ILS though.

@@vsTerminus Well I have been thinking about upgrading my Ford Focus... I'll have to contact my local Mil dealership and check what VOR options they offer. 🚁
