I also feel for Game Freak when the community is so harshly critical. They’re a smaller dev team than most people think and are on HARD deadlines given that it’s basically Pokémon standard to drop something every year. Bear in mind they have LA as a basis for their code now (if the gameplay is similar,) which may give them lots of time to flesh out aspects such as Mega. That's a moot point if they spend a year just putting together the story. We'll find out in a year.

I like how with just that presentation, Gamefreak said "We hear you loud and clear!" - they're not dropping the game this year, giving themselves more time to cook - they're doing a Legends game, which despite not having as good sales as Gen 9, had better reviews and was loved more by the community, even being said to be among the best Pokemon games to date by many - they're doing Pokemon Z, even though it has been 11-12 years, but they're actually doing it - and most importantly, they're bringing the best feature ever, Mega Evolution! If they finally give us Mega Flygon, then they'll prove this point even more!

To those who thought past gimmicks would never come back, eat your words. I've been saying that since the release of Legends Arceus just so they don't make a gimmick to similar to a past one and people I talked with hated that idea, and yes that would probably include Z-Moves and G-Max to those that hate the gimmicks but it at least gives them an opportunity to be used again. I don’t even care how they approach this new Legends game - we’re going back to Kalos and we’re getting Mega Evolution (the absolute BEST gimmick in Pokémon history) back; that’s more than good enough for me! I absolutely love just how excited the community is. People freaking out for the Legends: Z title reveal, and then getting LOUDER at the Mega symbol. All the mainline games got either a third version (Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum), a sequel (B2W2), a remake (FRLG, HGSS, ORAS, USUM, Let's Go, BDSP), or DLC (SwSh, SV)... except for XY. And boy did they fix that by finally giving us not Pokemon Z, but Pokemon LEGENDS Z-A. Kalos is finally gonna get the love it deserves. I say this as a hardcore Sinnoh fan who absolutely loved the hell out of Legends Arceus, which more than made up for whatever BDSP was in my opinion.
