I think you guys are underestimating how many people are going to see mufasa, I mean, the biggest grossing Disney movie (without counting marvel and star Wars) is the lion king (2019), so as much as we may want that soulless movie to flop, it most likely won't. Edit. Inside out 2 has now surpassed Lion king (2019) as the biggest grossing Disney movie but my point still stands lol.

I don’t think it sunk in for the reactors how groundbreaking the fat Robotnik reveal is. Jim Carey has returned for a threequel. This is unprecedented, not just because this is the first threequel he’s a part of but because he is known for not doing sequels. Before Sonic 2, the last and only other sequel he did was Ace Ventura 2. After that he made it a policy to not do sequels because he felt that most of them were soulless rehashes of the original made for cash grabs. Sonic 2 was the first time he felt differently about a sequel, and he’s said on interviews how he looked at the script and knew it was something else, that they were building upon the previous movie. This is how you know Sonic 3 is going to be GOAT’d because he wouldn’t have come back if he didn’t feel the similar about this movie’s script considering he wanted to kill the Robotnik character to go out on a high note with Sonic 2. Also I really really hope there’s a fourth wall break with Sonic comparing Shadow’s voice to Keanu. Considering how in his developing years on Earth he watched and quoted Keanu’s characters numerous times and knows who he is, he can’t not pick up on that similarity.

Uh, you sure you’re not the faker in this instance? Only time Eggman’s double crossed Sonic and friends after a team up is Lost World. All other instances they see the truce through to the end before parting ways (or reseting time in 06’s case). The closest thing to a double cross outside of Lost World was when he tried to slip away at the end of Shadow the Hedgehog.
