As an Aussie I love hearing this special lilt of music Garron, both the, joyous, the comical and the romantic. Also the sad. "Keening" is it called ?" Being an old chook of 67, I've grown up with heaps of Australian versions of Irish folk song music with lyrics tweaked to pertainin to the new land and her specific regional, and white social and historical conditions of early convict and settler and stock raising and droving history, since the beginning of the outside world's infliction upon her and her first nation people. Also throughout the history of the Depression days. Now there are modern bands singing about modern times with the same Irish folk lilt. One called Weddings, Parties, Anything. I used to go to all the bush dancing (used to also be called wool shed dancing too) venues with all the great bush bands during the 70's and into the 80's. Great to hear you giving it your all Garron. Beautiful!👍 BTW not just because I've Irish (both mobs) ancestry as there is also Welsh, English and Scottish and whatever foreign invaders contributed to their genes. A visiting Scotsman I met once, called it Aussie mongrel vigour.
