(That’s because I liked the thor movies)

The Thor movies are absolute nonsense. Hollywood made up fiction that have nothing to do with the source. As is God Of War. You better start reading the Edda's.
@HighLordoftheBathroom3 жыл бұрын
That actually makes sense. The Earth begins when Odin kills Ymir to create a new existence because he was apparently bored and the Aesir are literally War gods.
@mver1913 жыл бұрын
@@HighLordoftheBathroom The Aesir came from the more warlike Yamnaya people from the steppes. With traditions coming from sky-father beliefs. The Vanir were the original European people from the forests. With traditions coming from earth-mother belief. The Yamnaya and subsequent cultures took over much of Europe. We see that male Yamnaya's outbred native European men, but with native European women. So either they killed all the native European men in wars so they couldn't reproduce, or took/raided all the women and outbred the native European males in their own territory. We see the same in the myth. The Aesir and Vanir went to war, and in the end Freya (Vanir) was forced to marry Odin (Aesir). And then the different pantheons were united in one pantheon. It's kinda like both cultures fused with eachother over time.

@rahulhnair91623 жыл бұрын
Thats a great one. Like in most religion there is a beginning and a end which keeps recurring like In Norse, It started with Ymir, the first being, a giant who was created from the drops of water that formed when the ice of Niflheim met the heat of Muspelheim.(water) And end is with Ragnarok, the Great war between realms. And few survivors for New Beginning. In Christianity, The Story of Noah's Arc, where the Great Flood happens and New life begins. The Revelation is the end, the prophecy of apocalypse and War. In Hinduism, It begins with great flood too, and ends with a Great war(Prophecy). The Ancient Egyptian religion, Supported annual flooding which at last was A huge flood.(wrath of gods) And at last just like the Four Horsemen, war, pestilence, famine, death occurred even resulting in cannibalism. There are many similarities between the different religions regarding the life cycles. And yes, looking at different planets and systems its unbelievable that there were no apocalypse before on earth. Maybe the prophecies aren't just warnings but Accounts of what might have happened in the past. Just a Theory

Basically all the major weopons/fighters were related to loki (in ragnarok) For example: 1. Thor's hammer: Gifted to thor by the dwarves as an unintentional consequence of loki trying recover sif 's hair. 2. Odin's horse: See 'The walls of Asgard'. 3. The walls of Asgard: Built by the master builder (It was loki's idea to trick the builder into building the wall for free). Odin's horse was the consequence of that. 4. Loki's children and their descendants: They contributed A LOT towards the result of ragnarok. ( Hel's army, Death of Odin by Fenrir, Death of Thor by Jormungandr, Children of Fenrir eat the sun and moon) 5. Death of Baldur the bright: Loki was a major cause of the death of Baldur the bright. Because of him Baldur was stuck in the underworld (It must be remembered that it was Hel who prevented Baldur's soul from returning from the underworld unless every single being wept or Baldur. Loki also disguised himself and did not weep, thus preventing the gods from fulfilling Hel's condition.) Loki's Punishment: Loki indirectly made himself participate fiercely in ragnarok as the punishment for killing Baldur was that loki would be chained. This led to him going to the underworld to ask for an army from Hel. (I cant be sure whether loki would participate if he want punished by the gods.)

What's amazing is that the forces of the gods(einherjar) were far more numerous than one can imagine During fimbulwinter Men constantly warred with each other and died in battle Either dying against each other or packs of wolves while on the hunt This means there was a surplus of the usual amount of einherjar that the valykries took to Valhalla More people died fighting than people who died in other ways Meaning more people formed the army of Valhalla than people who formed the army of hel Even before fimbulwinter this remained the case As vikings existed Yet surtr was still able to no diff all of the gods remaining(presumably even the vanir,since surtr generates all heat in the universe) As well as all the einherjar
@Don-ej1le10 ай бұрын
But Surtr still unable to harm Vidar, Vali, Magni, Modi and Njord.

Canines are naturally territorial. That’s the same wherever you go. Most ancient religions believed in some sort of afterlife. They needed to believe that there was some sort of primordial force keeping the dead from ever coming back to the living, and the wolf or dog was an unsympathetic animal when it came to guarding their realm. You can’t reason or bargain with an animal’s natural instinct like you could with a traditional guard. The dead or living wouldn’t be able to play on the guard dogs’ sympathies, and an animal can’t be bribed with riches like humans or even gods. Ancient humans most likely used that “logic” to come to the conclusion that the guardian of the underworld was some sort of canine.

While I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation - i feel its a great shame that you didem not include the details of the black dragon nithhogg who flies out of the mountains after the end of ragnorak bearing corpses on his wings. I think that is an important detail you should have included because it displayed that while good will never truly die, neither will evil. Both will always exist.

In Midgard, the summer was ending and it all pointed to the great summer ahead. But a cold wind blew and unexpected frosts devastated a great share of the crops. The tree leaves acquired autumn colours and fell way before the expected period. A harsh winter was approaching. Three winters followed without summer. The nights were longer and every men feared the sun will never rise again. Food became scarce. Those who prefer to hunt became preys of Fenrir's offspring. Brother will fight brother. Sisters will shatter kinship. Children will challenge their parents. War Axe will be drenched with blood. T he Council and the Defenders of Arazan will analyse all this events which have transpired and will know it's the work of the Black Dread. Anarchy took over. The sun and the moon were swallowed by Fenrir's offspring and the world fell into Darkness. The wolf Fenrir was free and the serpent was free who resides in the ocean caused massive waves. Tsunamis leveled a few surviving cities.

The colossal serpent released an extremely terrible poison contaminating the water killing the smallest of the animals to a larger one like whales. Loki (Tenebris) subject to to a dreadful torment had his moorings broke. Like his son Fenrir, Tenebris had only one goal in his mind, thee destruction of all those who wronged him (All life). Loki went to helheim, a kingdom where those who died unworthy death ended up. The Queen of the helheim, hel, handed to her father the command of the army of the undead.

A dragon dug a tunnel that the armies of the dead would match to the land of men. Massive flame signal that the army of Muspelheim was marching on. The giants army were led by Snatcher The Black. The colossal giant burn everything in his path with his flaming eye. The ice giants will ride on giant boats made from human nails will cross the ocean towards the battlefield. Heimdell, the Guardian of Asgard, will blew the horn signalling the battle is approaching and the end of the world. The horn that everyone dreaded. The forces of Chaos were led by Loki who are ready to use any available means to end the forces of order. Valhalla will open, and the warriors of Odin army who died honourable will match out in battle again. They were in the hall of Valhalla awaiting for this day.

This is why I choose to believe in this religion. When all seems lost we aren’t to fall back on prayer or just roll over and die. Our bravest and best ride out with our gods and fight in one last battle to save what we love.
