Setting out the new pergola in slippers, classic baller move

I enjoy your content for a lot of reasons. Among them your self awareness, your honesty, the fact that you factor money as a limit to your projects… the cat’s stelar apparitions don’t hurt either. Looking forward the next videos.

Cracking start mate. Wow man, Milwaukee stepped straight up eh? Result. I know you talked about it at the end but one thing that struck me when watching you use the breaker was how smooth it looked. Not as smooth as you in them shorts but pretty smooth.

haha! Yeah I guess it was smooth, although I have nothing to compare it to as never used one before. I feel very lucky to have it - it sure beats the ones I was looking at buying from Facebook Marketplace!

Can't believe I've only just found you. Hubby is out in the bomb site garden having taken up 15m x 4m of decking as we are replacing it with a patio. It's a huge job as it's 300mm raised due to the land sloping away. We'll get there, hopefully a bit easier having found your helpful videos!

You need a mattock for breaking up compact soil - I'd never go back to just using a spade or spade and fork. Really useful for lots of jobs around the garden too.

that sounds like a lot of work!
@mikedeman53513 жыл бұрын
Yellow is a very attractive colour for insects, which I guess is why there are so many yellow-flowering wild flowers - attracts pollinators. Hence the weevils on your shorts :)
@RagnBoneBrown3 жыл бұрын
it was strange, they were everywhere that day, but haven't seen them again since
@stevewoodw3 жыл бұрын
Rubble - hardcore - most people are using ballast these days - it compacts better and will be more likely to form a base that ensures the slab will be less likely to crack. It may be small enough - you might want to check it out before you do any compacting.
@essentialhandyman3 жыл бұрын
Always good to know I've helped someome with a bit of advice. You'd be surprised how many people just ignore solid advice and crack on the way they wanted to. That Kango looks a beauty. Good old MIlwalkee helping ou out. Looking forward to the next videos, to see how the job progreeses mate.

Personal preference coming from a bricklayer I would rotate the new slabs 45° to the original coursing line. This will break the visuals of the smaller sized slabs. Nice to see the Milwaukee breaker, I have been looking at buying the cut off saw from the same battery line makes one more tempting, currently have the DeWalt cordless cut off much preferred over petrol. Great video!
@RagnBoneBrown3 жыл бұрын
Hi George. I actually really like that idea. The only thing putting me off from laying them at 45 degrees is the fact that I don't have a large grinder, so I'll be doing all the cuts with a 115mm one. If I had a bigger grinder, I'd go for it !
@georgebishop47573 жыл бұрын
@@RagnBoneBrown you should see if Milwaukee want to let you do a trial of the cut off saw would let alot of people gauge how good the batteries are for my side of the trade.

when it comes to "Jack Hammers" the heavier option is usually the best. While it can be a bear to move around, heavier vibrates you less, and works faster.

If you've only come here for Dylan skip to: 00:14 (thumbnail links to previous videos - I say these count); 03:26; 06:46 and 08:32. Get a pair of Craghoppers Nosilife shorts, then the bugs will stay away from you...if that's what you want them to do :)

If you have a look on KZbin for the RR Buildings channel and do a search for the Milwaukee MX Fuel Carry On Power Supply you can see a video of some of the other uses for the battery range that the breaker uses (He has an excellent channel, I highly recommend). You are very lucky to have been given that breaker, only downside is finding somewhere to store it given it won't see much use. It would be great to see a video about your reasons for wanting/needing to replace the roof and windows if you are ever looking for a video or perhaps as part of an upcoming vlog episode.
@RagnBoneBrown3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I watch RR Buildings already actually! Great channel. Yeah I am very lucky to have had such a brilliant tool to use - and yes indeed, need to find somewhere to store it now! May cover roof and window replacements in future as per your suggestion

Is a bungalow a house in the UK? In Australia a bungalow would be a separate (detached) living area at the back of your house.
@Ricko1Games3 жыл бұрын
It's a house type. Everything is on a single floor. No stairs. Usually for elder people that have trouble walking up stairs. They tend to be more expensive due to the large surface area (big roof) and land plot size.

How do you handle doing work outside - for instance when you were using this tool to break up the concrete did you let your neighbour know you would he making noise, did you involve them in choosing when you would do it? I’m always curious about people handle this with close neighbours. Can’t wait to see the final product. 👍🏻
@RagnBoneBrown3 жыл бұрын
I don't think there's any need to tell the neighbours if you're doing work during the daytime hours. If I needed to work in to the evening or on a Sunday I would have let them know.

Another great video! I'm curious about how long it took for someone to come and take that soil/dirt off your hands? We had a **lot** to get rid of recently after a fence build but hired a skip. We've got more groundwork projects coming up so if just giving it away is a reliable method then that would be great!
