X4 Foundations: 7.0 Beta 2 - Combat testing for the xenon B

Hello everybody,
On this one I made more combat test for the xenon B corvette.
Such a whicked looking corvette, and such meh stats.
Even fully modded, its stats are inferior to the split Dragon, and that says something. :(
Can't make it work, I need my shields...
Maybe there are some ace pilots amoung you, that can make use of this ship, as for me. I'm not a good pilot, I mostly order the AI around. :P

that looks terrible. Even though the weapons sound great this must be "fun" against m class ships Oo What mods did you attach to it? EDIT: never mind, should have watched the whole video before asking :D Those shields are just terrible.....

i complained in a previous video about this not having a centered driver seat like the nemesis... WHAT ARE THOSE WINDSHIELD COVERS MAN! holy space cow...

I think that it's a bug on the ragnos' side though, mine does not have those and their cockpit uses computer screens anyway, so there'd 0 point to have those covers

You really should wait those aiming dots get on the target 😄As for plasma cutter I would really like fight comparison with commonwealth M beam in the same video, but its okay. Estimate opinion is Xenon beam is more an alpha strike weapon while species beam is for prolonged fight, also latter one has faster aiming, iirc.

Its hard to wait when other targets keept shaving at my crust of a shield and hull. 😋 Like I said, it has stats worst that the Dragon, w/o its speed...really bad combo.🙁

Pretty much. If all four Beams hit it can one shot an S Ship and even do Hull Damage on a M. Now combine that with the Fact Xenon throw Swarms at you so there is probably a bunch of other Xenon ships who will enjoy your softened up Hull as a treat. But yeah, Xenon Ships are cheap, disposable mass production Ships for Swarm Tactics. I still love them for the Rad design and Maybe Timelines will add more stuff. Sadly probably not much we can hope for the Engine, unlike Meatbag Ships the Engine is Part of the Model.

When i fought with the B i picked my targets carefully.... Ones that were attacking something else so i could boom and zoom. If one did engage i waited for the head on and back peddled/kited. I do understand that this tactic does not always apply. I did not stay long in B due to short range on weapons and low shield capacity. PE is better I think but still is hindered by the shield.

Sadly, even modded, the B achieved about 550 m/s, speed that I noticed that was not enough to speed away from xenon Ns. 😐 The split Dragon can do the "boom and zoom" because, if memory serve me, even un-modded, can achieve close to 1.000 m/s. Can't do it with the B, especialy if I atack xenons fighters that have no other targets than me. On that note, I also can't do much combat with the Dragon, I need my shields, that is why Nemesis, Katana and Hydra (the order also indicate my preferences, from acceptable to best) are more on my alley, when it comes to personal use M ships. 😉 And ideed, B suffers from it's weapons low range, the xenon ships weapons fire will hit the B way sooner than the B can do the same. If you have more that one xenon fighters coming from the front...well, you've seen the clip.😐 Anyway, at the moment I have 3 Bs, multiple PEs, I intend to have 4 Bs and 4 PEs on my Collossus E "garage", maybe I can make some intercept wing. 🤔 My atempts to bail more Fs, so I can make a xenon fighter wing, were unsuccessful, because isulated F were rare, bonus, they drop mines while I was holding my fire to let their shields come back, to encourage the bail. So, my dream of having 28 Fs to have an interceptor wing is further and further away. ☹

@@ragnos28 hydra all day! I was thinking of a patrol fleet for PE’s. They are pretty quick and a few should be able to make short work of most targets. I have 6 at this point. Still trying to make my way to an H. Lol

А бигшипы можно 5-ю десантниками заабордажить?

@@jilezka конечно, но долго, нужен ускоритель времени чтоб быстрее было, тогда можно и одним десантником захватывать)))) подлетаешь сзади, сносиш двигателя, сносиш щиты и краус до 30 процентов, потом держишь щиты примерно 18 процентов, срабатывает побег, и довольно быстро выпрыгнет весь экипаж кроме капитана) за раз по три человека в спасательной капсуле. Когда щит на нуле, врубаешь сув, щиты поднялись до 22 процентов, сбиваешь до нуля, и повторяеш так пока не сбегут. На суве больше шансов и быстрее сбегают. Главное чтоб турели стреляли твои по врагу постоянно
