That hurt to see you grinding on the FJ. How do the lights effect visibility out of the windshield ? Great job and very helpful.

The lights do not affect visibility at all, they are not in my line of sight. The grinding seems scary, but you can't even tell with the panels installed. Thanks for watching!

I was thinking of slightly grinding down the Rago bracket instead, where it meets the cowl to not damage FJ. Obviously would loose some structural integrity, but what do you think?
@offroadhub.official3 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea. 😄👍

Thanks! I'll try it. Still can't believe how almost all FJ D-light brackets don't fit? I would understand maybe a cheap aftermarket bolt on bumper. But these look so simple and straight forward in design😂 Cheers!

The video is very useful to teach how not to do it.

This guy does not hesitate to take a grinder to his rig.

If they actually fit I wouldn't have to cut. But I did cut, and they look great. So if they don't fit, and you don't want to send them back to Rago, this is the way. 😄👍🏻

Yeah I'll be at FJ Summit in 2021 assuming they have it. It's a great place and a fun event!

@@offroadhub.official we were hoping too but they are taking those that signed up for 2020 and we didn't get signed up so hopefully 2022 we will be good to go again.

oh noes... I think you could've guided the power line where the rubber seal touches. Only other thing I noticed are these brackets are cool clearing the hood limiter tab but then you'll get an issue with the bracket and power line giving too much of a gap.

This is awesome! Might I suggest you insert some bassoon music at 7:40?

I took my cowls off with needle nose pliers..... you just squeeze..... I still broke 2 out of 4 though.

Yeah the clips are a lost cause.

Ken, you know there is a youtube video on how to remove and replace those cowl peace.
@offroadhub.official4 жыл бұрын
I didn't have any problem removing and replacing them. Installing the brackets under the cowls presented some difficulty.

Buddy just rip em off. It has replacement clips and they are like 30 cents. It’s not worth wasting all that time being delicate with plastic clips!

You dont have to trim the cowls to fit these brackets. Cringe.
@offroadhub.official4 жыл бұрын
The brackets are thicker than the gap. The cowls have to be trimmed for them to be properly reinstalled. If you dont trim the cowls, the cowls do not fit properly, as demonstrated in other's installations of these brackets.
@kristonenicolas3944 жыл бұрын
@@offroadhub.officialcorrection. YOU had to trim your cowls. I didnt have to trim anything for my cowls to fit properly. And telling others that this is the correct way is reckless and incorrect.
@offroadhub.official4 жыл бұрын
@@kristonenicolas394 Reckless? That's an interesting word choice, there isn't anything dangerous about what I did and I acknowledge that trimming is not in any instructions. Send me a photo of yours fitting correctly, I'd love to see that. Even in Rago Fabrication's own video they don't fit. Offroadhub.official@gmail.com
@kristonenicolas3944 жыл бұрын
Its reckless because you could have ventured different ways to get the brackets to fit properly before resorting to something more permanent. Anyways, I sent you an email with photos of my brackets 🍻
@offroadhub.official4 жыл бұрын
@@kristonenicolas394 yours look good. There was no way that was happening with mine. And as I mentioned, not even Rago could install them correctly. If others can't fit them correctly, like myself and Rago, I encourage them to trim their cowl pieces.
