Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the two bump stop options. I was going to buy the ones you put on your 4Runner for mine pretty soon and had seen those Sumo's floating about. They look a little cheesy in my opinion from the shape and the color blue they chose. The ones you put on you 4Runner at least gives a OEM look to it that blends with the rig very well. I also agree with your point on the longevity of the rubber in harsh terrain.

I have SS on my 11000 lb Sprinter van, front and back plus also on my 4wd Nissan Titan which I use to haul a 10000 lb camping trailer. The SS are holding up very nicely. No noise and smoothed out the ride on both vehicles.

I have a set of the Sumo springs on the rear suspension of my Xterra, and other than being dirty, they are holding up fine. This will be the fourth winter having them on the vehicle and I live in the rust belt as well

I replaced rubber suspension bushings with polyurethane ones many years ago. The poly ones started squeaking almost immediately.

Curious about the dampening of your shocks and settings doesn't act as if it is dampening much just by observation of video only but enjoy watching the videos keep them coming great for others to not waste time and money money purchasing and trying parts that work or not

ls your front LCA bushing supposed to be moving around that much?!?!? I wish Toyotas had more up travel. My Tacoma has about 2 inched before it hits the Timbren bump stops. Super Spring sent us a set as well and I have yet to try them out. The TImbren stops are pretty harsh mostly because they rebound a lot because they're rubber.

I'd use antisieze, not loctite, especially in your climate. You should have used it on the aluminum spacers for sure. Always use it when mating steel and aluminum.

Hi, I could be wrong, but I thought the instructions say to have the rear bumpstops installed with the offset towards the wheels. I will double check

It does say that in the instructions but, it would have come to close to our ABS lines.

Edit on 7/13/ 2024 for clarity: 2008 FJ Cruiser: I never had an issue with the OE bump stops connecting with the rear frame nor the front Total Chaos LCA's. The tare weight (empty) with ARB bumpers/rack/winch, skids, sliders, etc. is 5120 LBS. Rear: ICON Dual Rate Overland Springs - Part # IVD 52800 Front: ICON 700 LBS Coil Springs - Part # IVD 158508 The OEM are worn out now, so I ordered F/R Duro Bumps for $395 since they were on 4th of July sale.

The factory bump stop bolt broke off from the corrosion of the exposed threads you can get to above the lower control arm. Tried welding a bolt and now Im going to do the ball joints and drill it out and retap both.

Update: found a angle drill attachment at Harbor Freight and it worked. Tapped the threads and for good measure I put a lock nut inside the bump stop mount over the bolt. Im happy with the ride quality when I take a hard ( cringe) hit. Ride right air bags on the rear of my 2nd gen Tacoma give me a vehicle I can work. Just picked up 522 bricks a load.

I have these on my F-150 with a camper on it. I use it off-road a lot. After 4 years they still work perfectly. They have however lost their blue paint. Why would you complain about the durability of a product that comes with a lifetime warranty.

Time is the true test to see how long these will last compared to the Toyota part. If it is made in china, I will give a year before it cracks. If I were you, I would keep the old parts just in case.

I do! And when I attend FJ off road events I find that Im the only one willing to wheel hard. Lots of posers in the FJ community. For some reason they love the green trails, and don't like scratching their skids or sliders. @@unclbuck79
