Not a bad kit at all. Having to craft handles for the tools in the field is a pain though, maybe add a back up water filter and a four in hand rasp as well as a small wood carving knife. Not sure if I missed it but I didn't see any tool maintenance.

@@turtlewolfpack6061 Yeah but if the axe handle snaps in the woods it's almost impossible to remove the head without drills and chisels, it's better in the long run to make replaceable handles when needed. I have a 4 in hand rasp in with the files. I can carve with the axe head, kabar, victorionox, spec plus knife and the shovel if I need to.

Great kit, John. By adding a few more bits, you can use this as your camping kit. Any camps planned for the future?

Nice little kit. I’ve got similar in the same bergen. I’ll call it the SHTF bag. That’s the bastard with slingshots. Almost need to put in the calendar to buy new rubbers every year. I know you’ve got the hammock but I’d say investing in a high end thermarest or Exped winter pad would make a big difference to your kit should you ever have to use it

I’ve made 4 kits for the whole family as of shit hits the fan I can’t leave them. I got 2 xtherm pads and 2 exped downmats at about a tonne each 2nd hand over the course of about a year which are all basically brand spanking. That with the British Artic bags and bivvis should see anyone through the worst our winters can chuck at us

Old cycle tires are good for ranger bands and catty straps. 🤘😄

thing is, if the balloon goes up,I'd rather stay home than wander into some woods with a bivvi. Can see the benefit of this kit if you were running from the Feds

Wouldn't have a home to stay in if I had to use it. That's the point of the bag.

If you think you could become homeless in the near future you should be burying equipment clothing tinned food dried food a way to cook it etc unless you want to pan handle and lose all self respect and spiral into deep depression alcohol and drug use. If I were homeless I would spend my time metal detecting as I already own a detector and hopefully find things of value or interest to potentially give me some income and boost my moral.

Copies of relevant documents are missing from my point of view. Furthermore food, water and clothing.Apart this a good kit for the basic needs. I don't understand why the handles for the axe and spade are removed...needs a lot of time to reproduce them in an emergency situation. Both could used for self defence but not in this condition...
