Ragtime Piano Roll - Washington County Breakdown

In honor of all those "Washington Counties" everywhere in the U.S. here is a great contemporary ragtime work. This work was inspired by the composer's relationship with Washington County, Missouri in the northeastern Ozarks.
Enjoy this performance on my 1925 Aeolian Stroud Duo Art Pianola.

This is the first time I have heard this Roberts rag. As usual, absolutely gorgeous. David is one of the greatist composers of rag and other music this country has ever known.

I really enjoy all the old timey piano rolls you've made available on KZbin. Do you think you could help me identify an old piano roll melody I heard a long time ago? I'm having trouble tracking it down. I remember only about the first 15 seconds of the tune, and recorded it. Would that help you if I provided that recording?

The chording is really weird for an older ragtime piece, at least in this wave file it is... this was a wave output of a mid file ? This will take some time, but let me mull it over

You might try Ragtime Dorian Henry if you can get him to respond... all his rags are mid files

It would be great for that app indeed. If the tune is indeed an old one, I can not place it... yes it was a good wav file, but the character of the composition made it sound of rather recent origin.

That's a wonderful piano roll. Who was the composer of this piece, it sounds fairly recent.
