You're right about one thing, God is the same in the Old Testament as He is in the New. However, now we live in New Testament times, not only that, but a different disposition as well. You see, back then they lived by the Law, and now we live under Grace. As the saying goes, "we are no longer under the law, but under grace..." Christ dying on the cross and paying the price for our sin was the game changer in that regard. What was justified then isn't how God wants us to live now.

The very account of Rahab completely blows away the idea that a number of people have of the God of The Bible being misogynistic. Rahab was a prostitute, yet God valued her incredible courage and faithful acts and not only spared her and her family from destruction, but had her become an ancestress of our Lord Jesus Christ! Yeah, real misogynistic God of the Bible, there. Rahab is just one of MANY examples of the Bible where God had displayed great dignity and honor toward women, no matter what there background or walk of life.
@renatoherren4217
@renatoherren4217 5 жыл бұрын
I'm positive, that she quit prostitution though. Like God said to Ezekiel, if a wicked person quits his bad actions and starts acting righteous, his former actions will not be remembered, and he will live.

Before Joshua entered Jericho, where Rahab is, there was a mysterious man with a drawn sword standing before them and Joshua asked, "Are you for us or for our enemies?" but the man replied NEITHER. This is a serious intrusion guys. Remember that when God do or gave something, He is in nobody's side. The danger of taking sides is you might miss God's good and perfect will in that particular moment. If God did not intrude in that moment?

Rahab will remain as an outsider. Probably those guys will desert her, "Away from here! You do not speak out tongue!". Let us stop taking sides, no more "My side, My side, I want my side", no more "blood is thicker than water". and no more " are you for us or for our enemies?" Lets learn how to do and show real Love as Jesus taught us how to do through His Word.

Jericho had to be destroyed in order the the Israelites to conquer Caanan. If the Israelites had not completely killed the Caananites, they would have taken them as slaves instead, and their culture would have infected the Israelites to the point of having God destroy all of them. This was mercy.

Do you guys realize about the scarlet cord could be? For me, it is a picture of the blood of Jesus hat saves. The blood of Christ that clothes and saves those believe in His Name. That even the 10 plagues of old sees the blood (in their door frames), will surely just passover them, even death. That is what the precious blood of Jesus can do to each and everyone of us, not only in the past or old age, but as powerful as always even at to this very moment. It saves. Thank you LORD JESUS CHRIST!

Y'all killing me trying to put God in a box. Isaiah 45:7 KJV I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things. Everybody gets a chance at heaven, even after death... 1 Peter 4:5-6 KJV Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

The thing is "God is offering this in secret" why would this be so if it is so important? I mean, stories from over 2000 years ago, in a book. You know, Muslims have their claims as well. If it is so important, why doesn't God just communicate the importance of this. Why all the hiding?
@nuvzaivot
@nuvzaivot 11 жыл бұрын
offering in secret? before you were born, the gospel has already been preached. God already gave the reasons why it is so important (to be eternally separated from Him and be tormented in hell). Try to know why the Jesus said, I am the Way, the truth, and the life. Pray sincerely, ask who He is and what he has in store for you and I assure you that He will give you an answer.

Before I was born, Islam was preached. They will the same thing you are saying. They will say God gave a clear sign and proof. So, if you right I end up burning forever, if they are right, I still end up burning forever. Do you not see how absolutely preposterous this is? Rational discourse is thrown out the window when people just assume, "its this way or no way"--God could end this confusion. He could speak up for himself in a clear manor if this is so important.

Now if you are referring to amnesty to everyone, ask yourself first. If someone harassed you and you are demanding for "Justice", now what if you are the one who violate and harassed a person and that person is also demanding for "Justice". shouldnt you ask for mercy? but GOD is merciful and compassionate. now what you are referring as "amnesty" is... a myth... at best. Let the record state that Jeff Chang does not understand God & the doctrine of election. People have free will everyone deserves nothing from God. However those He has mercy on and saves experience His saving Grace. Those who don't merely get the justice they so richly deserve. You miss the point the GOD is most of all sovereign.

It can, like he did in Ninive. But he doesn't forgive them, if they don't feel sorry for their atrocities, like sacrificing their babies to their idols, which was the ancient version of abortion. Even if God commands that no one shall be spared, people still managed to survive, like the Gibeonites, another city in Canaan, that surrendered to Israel instead of fighting back. God uses every possible excuse to spare people and give them a second chance. Jericho could have surrendered during those seven days, but sadly they didn't.

'You see now that it is by doing something good, and not only believing, that a man is justified. There is another example of the same kind: Rahab the prostitute, justified by her deeds because she welcomed the messengers and showed them a different way to leave. A body dies when it is separated from the spirit, and in the same way faith is dead if it is separated from good deeds.' James 2:24-26 Similarly the Separated Brethren are like a body separated from the spirit: quite dead.

Well according to "the book" Angels don't need reproducing. Are you saying that "incest" was a better plan? Adam then Eve, then all the children had to marry from within the family? That sounds awful. Why not make everyone from the same dust? Keep them innocent as children and let the angels take over. Sure beats all the blood and suffering that this world is going through.
