I actually like the Terrain Dice. For thematic puposes, I call them 'Weather Dice' so if I don't roll what I need to enter the mountains, perhaps the track has been covered by an avalanche or there's a blizzard. Can't cross a river? Maybe a storm has turned a quiet stream into deadly rapids. Absolutely love this game solo or co-op! 😊

Basically, you need to buy this expansion in order to really LIKE this system. So then add the cost of the base and the expansion together and you have one game you MIGHT like (changes the purchase from about a $50 investment into a $100 investment). Why did FFG not include this fighting/combat system in the base game? Disappointed in FFG for splitting this game up in to two needed purchases.

If I have to make a choice for a monster, I'll just roll a die and allocate numbers on the die with a probability that makes sense. Eg, 2 options. One benefits the player, the other benefits the monster: roll a d6 1-5 = Option that's better for the monster 6 = Monster makes a mistake and chooses the option that's better for the player I find this keeps it thematic. You could also use your imagination to change the probability depending on the monster and the kind of intelligence it would have. Eg a stupid ogre would be more likely to make a mistake than trained soldiers. Perhaps an 'intellect stat' might help but I don't feel it's necessary ☺

the problem is, sometimes the monster has to make a choice between to things that are both bad for the player and it's not immediately apparent which is worse (because they potentially affect future rounds). so in those cases you're left in a quandary.

Rahdo, yes those AI Boards take over in the core set so now even in an competitive game you can use the AI boards my group only plays with those boards they are awesome.

In Locust Swarm: Where do you spawn the second warband? (from 2nd story card that is facing down) Do you spawn in outlaw glade again if the other (1st warband) has moved? Very confusing! Thanks for any help

Rahdo I agree with you the last part of your video felt like lazy design instead of FFG giving you a definitive decision on what to do if you have to make a decision for a monster.

Kinda a shame we have to buy an expansion to enjoy the coop experience... they shouldve done a stand alone expansion. Its a no-buy for me.
