Rahul Vellal and Bhargavi Venkatram Live @ 61st Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava 2023

Kudos to Rahul Vellal and Bhargavi. It is indeed a strategically well planned , organized and well coordinated devotional music concert with very carefully well selected songs fitting the occasion of Ganesha Utsava. The duet songs Venkatachala Nilayam, BhagyadaLakshmi bharamma and Jaya Ganesa Jaya Ganesa followed by Sri Ganesa Pancharatnam Mudhakaratha modhakam were rendered exceedingly well. Songs Jagadeeswari on Sringeri Sri Saradambal, Baro Krishnayya, Bholava Vittala and Bramhamukhate rendered by Rahul Vellal were scintillating. Bhargavi's Manavyala in kathanakuthoohalam, Krishna nee begane , Chandrachooda Siva Sankara, Om Sambho Siva Sambo and Jagadodarana were superb. It was a pleasure to see that both Rahul and Bhargavi encouraged the participative singing by the audience rasikas. All the best

Thoroughly enjoyed this concert by Rahul Vellal and Bhargavi Venkatram - young talented musicians and accompanying artists. Living in Boston for 44 years, the venue Shankar Mutt Sharadamba temple brought back memories of my younger days. We used to visit for darshan of the alankara to the deity during Navarathri.

Truly an extraordinary concert. However living in Dallas, USA I am very disappointed with attitude of Bhargavi Venkataram. Concert was in Bengaluru for Ganesha Utsava. Organizers and Rahul Vellal spoke in Kannada beautifully. Why Bhargavi kept on speaking in English exposing the Raga, Sahithya of Samskruta Shloka. All the audiences weee kannadigas and minorities were non kannadigas for sure. I Met her father Venkataram in Dallas and spoke to him in Kannada after the concert . My request to Bhargavi is to change her attitude. She is a great singer and I adore her singing.

In all honesty Bhargavi could not match with Rahul's music in voice, sruthi, standard etc --- it is unfortunate that it was decided to stage them together for some songs - both could have shined by only singing alone their pieces at the best of their abilities!!
