Hello Rahul! I recently started following you on youtube and have been listening to and watching your songs. I just wanted to share an experience while listening to this song today. I was playing it in the kitchen and one of my Telugu friends from AP came down and started listening to this song without asking any questions (he does not understand Marathi). At the end he just said that it was a bad day for him today and hearing this "soothing song" just relaxed and brought him immense happiness. Just thought that i should let you know this. Also, on a personal front, this song till date ( and nirbhay nirgun) are my favorites! Thank you for all the happiness you give through your songs. Good luck with everything in life!

Artists trained in the classical tradition tend to downplay the words because they can tell by notes alone. But words reveal what the notes alone cannot tell. Rahul Deshpande is the only singer apart from Asha Bhosale who managed to give a feeling of being lifted when they say "उचलून रात गेली'. He conveys the metaphor of the star-studded veil of the night being lifted by the dawn with a clear, yet subtle, twist of his voice alone. This is not a copy of the original, it is an analysis of the rendition, by someone who has felt the music deep within himself.
