Really good video, liked the visual representations. Very easy to understand too.

Would you know if I use a RAID 1 setup will that Mirrored copy actually be a Backup ? I want to buy larger Hard Drive space so I can at least have the Raid 1 as one of my backups on. top of the cloud ?

Awesome for anyone struggling to understand RAID. I'm studying to take the CompTIA A+ 220 1101/1102 and this helps tremendously.

Perfect explanation. I honestly think I am going to try Raid 0 for my next build and just save my important data to the cloud. I've never had a drive fail yet in any build or laptop so worth the risk for gaming and benchmarking. My question is if one drive fails in Raid 0, I assume you would you have to reformat all the drives due to incomplete data?

That’s a smart idea. Just cloud backup all the important stuff. Tbh I actually don’t know, I’ve never had a drive fail either but I would assume yes you would just need to reformat the drive that survived because it would have basically half its data missing.

It likely would not even boot up into windows

@@MaxsTech Oh, that would be a hassle actually. Thanks for the reply!

If I wanted to set up Raid on my home PC. How likely is it that one would experience an event where data was lost. Say I only had 2 hardrives and was running raid 0... Is it common to have an event happen where the data is lost?

Personally I’ve never had a hard drive fail. I guess it really depends what you’re using it for/ how often. Also depends how reliable the drives you have are. I use my computer pretty much everyday though. If your data is backed up or not super important you could probably get away with it, just know the risk.
