@@Ducckiee1355 it would but it would make the maintainance of m+ consumables even more annoying than it already is. In the end having no buffs is the same result as having all buffs without the additional work. And it would make balancing the dungeons easier to. If they allow scrolls they need to balance every encounter around having all of them. This makes pugs either much harder or much more annoying due to buff management. Also the biggest problem with the current raidbuff situation is how they basically buff each other. Mage buffs Evoker that buffs mage (even more with AI), that get buffed by MotW that then get multiplied with DH buff. It’s called exodia for a reason. Now you either use a specc that benefits from all those buffs the most or increases it even further (PI, shaman buff, or just raw dmg from warlock) This meta is even more insidious then previous metas with very strong speccs (survival hunter, demo in SL). It is so good because all the pieces work together in synergy (and better if well coordinated). Mix a mage with a warrior and a rogue and it’s just a good (or bad) specc, which then boils down to tuning. Mix an Aug with dps who can’t utilize the buffs well and it’s not a great specc. Play a full caster comp without a DH and you loose a ton of value. Have a bad player on any of the dps roles and it all falls apart. Its one thing having a singular overpowered specc that’s considered meta, because it doesn’t force you into a certain 5 player comp. Removing the raidbuffs takes a lot of the synergy out of this „exodia“ allowing for more specc diversity in creating m+ groups even those who want to min-max.

Key holders are so chronically meta slaving they will never settle for anything less than meta comps. People would rather spend 30 minutes to make a group and run the dungeon 4 minutes faster.

Yeah it’s pretty hard to not combine the buffs all together… VDH gives the caster dps 5% more dps Mage brings Rogue utility(CCs, mass invis, strong defensive kit to not die) and more (mass barrier, 5% more damage for the other caster, increases aug effectiveness and the healers heals. Resto Druid brings good CC and a 3% damage increase for the group and 1.5% damage reduction for the group. Aug brings huge defensive ability(zephyr, blistering scales, black attunement(4% more hp) and makes the tank stronger and DPS do more damage, and the healer more healing and damage and even gives the healer mana… oh and slightly increases the movement speed of everyone in the group too boot. The other dps, this time destro warlock, is probably just being brought to melt anything in the groups way. But it also doesn’t help that warlocks bring a mini health potion for everyone and an AoE stun and the ability to skip or do weird things with the gates. I say they’d need to nerf Aug to no longer buff healer and tank and remove VDHs damage increase for casters to even have a chance at getting rid of these god comps

To the people freaking out: 1. This is only a +13 2. Destro Lock is completely busted in m+ on beta rn to the point that they can RoF on ST from how strong it is 3. Aug Evoker is nearly 2m behind the Lock on overall Because of the key level, Aug Evoker is not actually helping them clear any survivability checks and there is no evidence that it does damage equal to that of a 3rd DPS based on current beta logs. While Aug may still be S+, nothing shown in this video really tests whether Aug holds up at higher key levels, Aug could be F- tier and it would be invisible, running a Destro Lock and clearing a 13 might lead one to believe that the Aug was crucial to the group's success but it could be easily the opposite case where the Aug sucks and is being hard carried. Farming 13s isn't evidence either way and people ought to chill out. Aug received some LARGE nerfs on beta, it also lost SPriest from the m+ comp which means it loses its biggest DPS Scaler (most people don't know that on live Spriest gets twice as much damage from Aug as the Mage), it loses PI Synergy and it also loses the throughput it adds to the group via Vamp Embrace and Leech Sources (being nerfed). Offensively, Aug also loses 2 minute CD synergy so breath of Aeons will have lower value even without being nerfed. Aug is substantially weaker on Beta but doing keys 10 levels lower than the Live push level means that beta testing won't really reveal whether Aug is needed or not. We will have to wait and see for TWW to release, but I'd put good money on Aug not being in the new meta comp, its log damage in groups not running Destro lock make it look pretty fuckin bad offensively, and it suddenly isn't helping all that much with heal checks either, it looks even worse if you run with a Guardian Druid because Blistering Scales is a literally meaningless buff on a druid with 3+ stacks of ironfur.

I've learned to not care about this anymore. It's too stressful and mentally exhausting chasing the meta and FOTM re-rolling constantly. Just play what is fun to you to the BEST of your abilities and it will be WAY more satisfying than re-rolling and chasing meta with everyone else. Likelihood is that you're not doing R1 or R2 keys anyway.

The healing and tank nerfs made aug more important. Some tanks can't even live without an aug. Seriously though, what do you expect from ppl pushing infinite scaling content. Unless a melee dps does a shit ton of damage that makes up for possible loss of uptime on mechanics or has crazy utility, it's never going to be meta. It's just normal human behavior to play whatever else that just contributes more to your goal (pushing another key level). And redesignig dungeons to favor melees is not what is going to happen any time soon. That being said, nobody is keeping you from playing a melee on a reasonable level, it's basically a 0.1% ppl problem.

@@icswack6015 well first of all, melees were played a lot throughout df, it's not like nobody is playing melee and they are totally ruined. Secondly, at least the new tww dungeons look extremely melee unfriendly, too much stuff is going on, that is what I mean when referring to dungeon design. Unless a melee spec is overturned to compensate for uptime loss due to 15 different mechanics, it will be outperformed by a ranged spec that is basically afk pressing buttons all the time. But most importantly, why all this whining about melee if you are 0.1%? At this point you are expected to play what's meta anyways, whether it is melee or not, unless you are one of those people who are playing their warrior for 15 years and refuse to do anything else other than charge release spirit, which I find to be even more obnoxious than fotm rerolling.

I feel like objectively SPriest is better than Lock in a caster comp. I don't think healthstone, shadowfury, gateway is better than Fort, MD, VE, Soothe, PI, dispel magic, their damage profile and off-heal. Priest would have to be very undertuned in terms of raw numbers for me to take warlock unless I'm really missing something there.

Everyone except 0.1% will stop playing keys once they clear 11s, which is probably like 1 month in. 12s and beyond look like a boring slog. Not to mention anyone not mythic raiding can't get gear to do decent level keys anyway. No way we're waiting around 10+ weeks to gear out from the vault 1 item/week. Dungeons actually look fine. I think if you just transplant the DF S3 system into TWW S1, it'd be a good season. Hero talents are hit and miss.

Sigils, jumping around, mobile character, is something fun for me rather than tank and spank. What's fun is different for each person. You cant tell me what's fun and I can't tell you what is fun. MY comment states MY personal opinion, and your reply as ''NO? ITS NOT A FUN TANK'' is the beginning of a toxic behaviour since u challenge MY opinion about fun. Now about the meta bothering 1% of top players. I never said that. The FACT IS that the meta is defined by the top players. When that 1% find the min-max and which class fills-in for the optimal slots for each role, then they create what we call meta. It happens to all games, any title, any genre, you name it. And yes, because they are the ones who do all the min-max work, then the rest of community tends to follow in order to have easier time. Do I agree with that? no. I always play what I believe is fun for me, and I pay the price by getting rejected for 1h on LFG cause my class is not meta unless I create my own groups. For future reference, before u rush to reply, take a deep breath. Let ur toxicity go. If u did that few minutes ago, u would understand that what I said is : That the majority of the playerbase who is not at that 1% of the top, can play ANYTHING they enjoy the most and still do the content they enjoy. You can play whatever tank u want and still do high keys. Meta is just making ur life a tad easier, and it doesn't mean that the rest of the characters cant do it. When a VDH in DF could CC a whole pack of mobs alone, it would make ur life in the dungeon easier rather than fighting ur way through it. That doesn't mean that u cant do a key with the other tanks. End of story, I hope I made it clear enough. Luckily for my wellbeing, I'm not in that 1% of hardcore gamers, I'm not toxic and I enjoy the game with my VDH and my shadowpriest which I love, and I main for years. If it happens to also be a meta class, good for me, I ll get faster invites. Have a good day/night
