The true fans aren't drinking the Kool-Aid passed out in what's become the annual New Raiders Head Coach press conference. On a brighter note, they are talking about the QB position, which recent history elsewhere in the league shows, if you flip it correctly to the right guy, can have profound effects in turning a team around.

That Seattle Defense "Legion of Boom" is in a way something in reminiscent to John Madden's 70's Raiders. The Raiders of the 70's is the original "Legion of Boom" even though that title rightfully belongs to the Seahawks. But that 70's Raiders defense was vicious made it an extreme collision sport. Teams feared John Madden's Raiders. Hopefully Pete Carroll can bring something similar but modern that the NFL won't complain about. Legion of Boom 2.0? Or The Sin City Defense

Apparently all Telesco did was draft. AP picked his coordinators, etc. Telesco didn’t get fired until a couple days after AP so I’m guessing part of it is Brady and committee now making the decisions instead of Mark.

This was exactly the correct perspective. Everyone loved Telesco’s draft, but he missed on a lot of key needs, including the most important position on the team. There were better options in the draft and FA. The RB room and offensive line were not addressed well either. Also, failing to secure the OC because of a third year and settling for leftovers again. Both of the recently failed regimes botched the roster management and it killed us. We should have traded Davante when the Jets were still offering first round pick and some change. That could’ve helped us move up for a QB. Telesco gambled in the draft and lost. By that time the solid FA talent was gone, so we got Minshew and AOC. That is a miss, and he was gambling with his job…and AP’s job. Bye Felicia.

I've never liked or respected Mark Davis (he's never had the same passion or knowledge of the game as Al). But bringing in Brady and allowing him to do his thing and build this team and coaching staff is the smartest thing he's done. I'm "cautiously" optimistic, but I'll believe it when I see it. I just want the Raiders to be competitive and win some playoff games. That would be a successful season of this new Brady/Spytek/Carroll era. R4L

Mark I respect this decision I think the younger coaching circus wasn't the move for our team atleast right now. Like the move we have one of the youngest teams in the Nation and might even get younger I'd expect. I also think younger players can truly benefit from a older coach with experience versus a younger motivator/tricky play caller I think Pete brings us consistency to win. Still upsets me gruden didn't work out I hope Pete can bring us back to the glory days or atleast head in that direction! Appreciate you continuously investing in the fans even tho you've lost a ton.

i have long clowned the Raiders for their incompetence and futility, their delusional fans always living in the past, a past where they talk about things that happened 40 yrs ago. But today, as a die hard USC fan and Pete Caroll fan, i have but no choice to root for the Raiders. And i believe they made the right choice. He has always found gems in the draft, somethin the Raiders are notoriously bad at, and he is one of the greatest head coaches of all time who has won everywhere. Only someone with that pedigree can turn around the shitshow that is the Las Vegas Raiders so Raiders fans should be jumping for joy and super appreciative that they will have a serious contender within 2 yrs.
