In my opinion, the issue of wether or not hunting is good or bad, rests solely on intent. When people hunt purely for sport, I find it despicable. When, however, hunters take the animal, and offer immediate respect by killing quickly and give thanks for the meat and take it in, in that same meat in respect and thanks, teaching their children that same respect, it is acceptable. Also, I believe that using as much of the animal as possible is important. What cannot be used by the hunter ought to be offered to someone who will use it. My family used ALL the meat, the head was mounted. The hide was tanned and either used to make an area rug or "throw blanket" for the "man cave" or given to a local man who made slippers, chaps, or such. Sinews and horns were made to make powder horns, knife handles or carvings. Some antlers were simply around the house. I can recall being fascinated by the texture and admiring them for long periods of time. These things gave me a GREAT appreciation for nature and for God. It pained my heart to know people got the best roasts and steaks of the meat and threw the rest away, or worse, lobbed off the head to mount and tossed the rest. This was heartbreaking and the height of disrespect. It's one of the many things that my scriptures call practicing "unrighteous dominion". Its a sin and a shame when men chose this path.

@@lahaine8026 And what exactly gave you that idea? You do realize that their IQ is protected by natural selection while ours has been going down a cliff for decades? I don't see why you'd think their IQ is lower than ours. If you told me around 80, about 1 SD from the average, I could at least debate your opinion since you miss nurture but at least have a point on nature, meaning considering IQ is mainly informed genetically one might infer, if he's a tad racist, that their group is likely to have an average IQ below 100, but 60? heck below 60? You have no clue what you are talking about because for that to be the case if the tribe has lasted a couple generations you can see their curve wouldn't even be contained within ours, if the average was 60(which is higher than what you said) they would be able to produce people with lower IQs than the whole human race in its whole history with just 25 times their numbers throughout history, aka they wouldn't even be human. Unless what you meant is that at some point they were a newer branch of cast-offs from multiple tribes who banded together under the banner of stupidity to branch off from homo sapiens sapiens into homo kinda sapiens and that through crossbreeding purposefully for stupidity, eventually they succeeded in splintering from the human race into a lesser form of humanity. If that were the case I'm sorry for calling you a tad racist, I wouldn't want to offend you by mixing you together with the casual bigot if you make a point of taking your racism to the next level. That's almost 3 SD from the average. Like this, not only are you off on nurture, you are miles off on nature as well. As far as nurture goes, evolutionary speaking, our IQ piqued when we were hunter gatherers and our intellect evolved mainly to facilitate that task and our personalities still reflect the skew in IQ distribution where more modern traits are associated with lower IQs. The only edge you might have is a better language with which to articulate your thoughts, don't flatter yourself. P.S. You kill the animal with your teeth because it's the natural thing to do and it's a contained kill. Your mouth makes sure there is no mess because you have this thing called suction while a knife has no such advantage. Less of a mess means making yourself less of a target, less traces, less smell, just better. Plus you can also argue that early contact with the blood of the creature, before the tribe eats it, might help in spotting potentially harmful meat. If these people do something a certain way, you should assume it's the right way to do it with their means, and then figure out why. None of us is smarter than selection over time, and they've been selecting for a long, long time to do what they've been doing with what they have at their disposal.

Personally, I think hunting - humanely and responsibly, not purely for trophies - can actually be one of the most ethical ways to acquire meat. The animals get to live natural lives instead of being penned up, crowded, and put through the general stress of captivity. Not that all domestic operations are bad, but they're certainly not all good either. Even in more developed countries, there are lots of people who find it more affordable to hunt a couple of deer per year than to buy that much packaged meat, and for the most part the people I've met who do hunt try to be as humane as they can. A quick kill is just practical, if nothing else.
@tylertapp1313 жыл бұрын
Well said. I come from a long line of hunters, farmers and outdoorsmen. It's just a way of life. I've never been into trophy hunting but if I'm blessed with a trophy it's just a little more of a reward. 90 percent of the meat me and my wife eat is what I harvest. The way they pump the animals now for grocery stores is just wrong and who know what you're really eating. It's never as good as one that's lived free and healthy and provide much better nutrients and flavor to the one that hunts and harvests it as well.

In Judaism, part of the reason for Koshur laws is so that animals do not suffer unnecessarily when they are killed for food. Koshur k_lls of animals partly means that they die very swiftly and therefore without much or any pain. However, I want to hunt a Kodiak bear while clad in armor and armed with a sword, spear, and/or dagger. I doubt the k_ll will be Koshur, but I can still donate the corpse of the bear as food for gentiles. This type of hunt will strengthen my character by allowing me to voluntarily face fear and combat with a mighty creature. Hunting will also allow me to appreciate the struggles my ancestors conquered while hunting for food.
@maxk50653 жыл бұрын
@@Jewish_Juggernaut you know that's basically what trophy hunting means... the meat of the captive breaded lion too is given to local populations (your gentiles) and the people that kill them too want to "strengthen my character by allowing me to voluntarily face fear and combat with a mighty creature", the only difference i see is that you're more likely to die because you don't have a sniper but a sword witch is more fair to the prey if we're talking "chance to die" but bring much more suffering than a well placed bullet (you're not going to 1shot that bear with your sword). you will not "appreciate the struggles my ancestors conquered while hunting for food" beause you won't be hunting for food, you're hunting for an adventure, a good story to tell, a proof of your power, that is basically what trophy hunting is...
@Jewish_Juggernaut3 жыл бұрын
@@maxk5065 I did not say that it would not be trophy hunting, or that trophy hunting was wrong. Moreover, I also acknowledged that the bear's d__th would be painful and not a 1 hit k_ll from my sword as I said I doubt the k_ll would be Koshur. Hunting a bear with a gun would strengthen one's character. I did not say hunting creatures with guns is wrong or cowardly. However, having combat with a Kodiak bear with melee weapons will strengthen one's character even more so due to the drastically more difficult challenge. As for you claiming, "you will not "appreciate the struggles my ancestors conquered while hunting for food" beause you won't be hunting for food, you're hunting for an adventure, a good story to tell, a proof of your power..." you are wrong. I would not be hunting to prove my power, at least not as much as I would be hunting to become more powerful and to become better. Hunting for food was an adventure. Voluntarily going through any difficult challenge would allow one to appreciate the struggles, and therefore also hunting for food, their ancestors conquered, even if it's as simple as taking a cold shower, let alone having melee combat with a Brown bear. Voluntarily facing any difficult and/or dangerous challenge in terms of having respect, gratitude, and understanding of their ancestors bloody well beats always living in comfort and telling trophy hunters how they're evil. In ancient Scandinavian cultures, 15-year-old boys would go hunt an Uruz, which is a now seemingly extinct species that was practically a larger buffalo, to earn their manhood. That was trophy hunting, and it was not evil; in fact, it was good.
@maxk50653 жыл бұрын
@@Jewish_Juggernaut as you wrote it under a comment that says something like hunting is good if not for trophies i thought maybee you didin't considered it trophy hunting. i understand your viewpoint, i'm not saying you're evil (there is no morality only morales, the universe doens't give a shit about good and evil), but just like i'm sadden by some of their kills, i would be for that bear, especially in our ecologically dying earth. man, since the start, has driven to extinction so much (especially great predators like that bear or the buffalo you're talking about) i wouldn't like to be part of it, and wish you take that into account and reconsider you way of getting stronger and did the cold shower, ufc fighting or other physical feats that do not threaten any animals... but who am i to tell you what to do while i eat meat from the slautherhouse and stuff... just consider it, animal life is precious and we're running out of it

I work in the hospital and we had the covid rules too. Visitors had to leave at 8PM because of covid. Suddenly at 8 PM covid becomes much more dangerous and, if you carry it, you can instantly give it to the whole hospital. All this danger suddenly stops at 10AM, when the visitors can return. After covid ended, we could finally be safer and allow visitations from 8AM. Those 2 hours difference seemed to be very important.

@@DeadPixel1105 it was deliberate. I don't want to underestimate people's capacity for being stupid (that is mainly for those who believed and supported the implementation of illogical rules), but you having to obey something openly absurd is to make a point. It is rubbing it in your face that the government is the authority, you are a powerless, and it is a statement that the government is not the people but some kind of royalty. We voted in communism too. We knew it's fake but we were obligated to go vote and participate in the charade. The point is that all sides know it is a charade and a lie: both the people and the government. The point is that you accept your submissive role willingly. It doesn't matter you like it or not, it matters what you do about it, and that you put the head down and let yourself tamed and have your spirit broken. It was pretty impressive how they could implement their authoritarianism, which trickled down to any corners of the system. I must admit they were very good at that part. Now people start to grumble but all this process is very carefully monitored and all this authoritarianism has to be pushed just enough below the levels where people do something about it. My father was born in Arusha, the name of the country then was Tanganjka, my Grandmother was born in the Usambara mountains, daughter of a German colonial official. She had at some point a big African vulture as a pet that had broken one wing beyond repair. It followed her around like a little dog and was the king of the chicken yard. After WWII they came to Switzerland where my Grandpa was from. When my Grandmother called us for supper she would shout Tchakula-go!!! As a little boy my Dad was telling me stories about Africa, the people and of course the anomals. He told me how he could hear the drum beat in the distance from the African villages when night was setting in, I listened to him talking of the Tsavo man-eating lions, about the nomadic Massai that were too proud to sweat and toil for White mans wages, of the kindness of the sedentary Kikuyu, of their singing during harvest on the coffee plantation, etc. I've never had the opportunity to visit Kenya or Tanzania myself, but I always took great pride in my own little bit of true "African heritage". And whenever I get a chance I tell people about the fact that Tanzania, despite of it being counted among the poorest countries of the planet its citizens have decided to put more than a quarter of its territory under environmental protection, in a unique effort to preserve the great Animal kingdom of Africa for future generations. I think the world as a whole and especially Westerners owe your country a great deal of respect for this alone. And I think one should also mention the fact that Tanzania has been under a democratically elected government since the end of Colonial rule, that it has never waged war against any of its neighbours and tries its very best to live peacefully without opressing or killing between its many different cultural entities, languages and such. Long live the wonderful nation and the amazing people of Tanzania! Wish you the very best from Switzerland! PS: I have inherited a true Hazda bow and arrow that is now nearly a hundred years old. I look at it right now.

Wow thank you for all the replies. Just to clear things up. Yes I realize the way of life for these people isnt all rainbows and butterflies. We are fortunate to have modern medicine and not have to worry daily about finding food or if a lion is going to kill us. My point was that this is all these people know and they look very happy. Sometimes I wish life wasnt as complicated with the stress of bills, 9-5 jobs, social media and politics. I might happily give up everything I know and worry about in western culture to have their life. If I die younger then at least I might do so with a lot less worry and stress. Not to mention the smoking weed all day and hunting with the boys sounds amazing
@seankeogh14013 жыл бұрын
I see what you're saying but these people still have pretty harsh lives. Like if they don't catch food they'll go hungry also I'd imagine they have nowhere near the medical care we have, notice how nobody we see is that old, I'd say their life expectancy is a lot lower. As well as all this in the video it shows their land is being threatened by other tribes who have begun claiming it something we in the west certainly don't have to worry about for the most part is being kicked out of our homes by neighbouring tribes.

Hunting is not an emotional act, it is a fact of life.
