he was friends with omar since jon left and originally was going to join before thomas. i wouldnt call deantoni a replacement hes totally different than jon but i wish they developed more songs with him. some of the omar solo stuff with him is wild

@@雌わ雄 Thomas Pridgen is a fantastic drummer, but I felt like he lacked the dynamics and restraint that certain TMV songs needed. It was just full blast non-stop.

He’s not playing it wrong, he’s playing it his own way. Knowing how much of an iron grip Omar has on Mars Volta’s sound, if he wanted Parks to just mimic Theodore then he would have.

Incorrect. Of all their drummers the 3 you mentioned are the best. Of course Jon Theodore was probably the best fit and sauciest of them all, though Deantoni Parks is fucking incredible too. Apparently you never saw the ORL-troubador show with all the black and white vids on youtube? um, ya, cuz if you had seen 'em you wouldn't be talkin' like that. And of all songs to make that comment on? He plays inertiatic fucking perfect dude. like are you even listening dude? he played that with such intensity and fucking spot on. Thomas Pridgen doesn't even play inertiatic as good as Deantoni does.
