To be fair by this point, if you know anything about what they’d done and how much work they were doing on their “golden treadmill” around they world (not to mention just the level of fame), any producer would have more than tolerated their excesses.. after all please please me (the LP not the single) was recorded in one 18 hour recording session. +David Kennedy - These guys were the Darlings of EMI. They could screw around all they wanted in the studio. The Beatles didn't need to get the songs down in a rehearsal room and then get in the studio to record in order to save money - they pretty much had unlimited studio time. I love listening to how the guys messed around. Just a few lads loving their jobs, at least at the time of these recordings. Compare this to the atmosphere during the "Let It Be" sessions. We probably want to think that those brilliant new sounds fell into to place from "genius" when in fact they were just clawing through the weeds and bogs like the rest of us but kept going in new directions. The long "boot camp" in Hamburg established the value of clawing through all the musical rubbish till you find something new and recognize its value. It's cool to listen to how the gears turned. Sidthing the Beatles were great song writers but none were, nor claimed to be, great musicians. Anyone who can play a guitar passably well can tell you that the songs, ingenious as they may be in many cases, are relatively easy to play. I could play most of them back in the day. So why hire studio musicians to play them? There is also a distinct development in musical terms through the band's compositional work, and this may even be evidence of a conspiracy to improve pop music.

It's kind of perverse that we can listen to these most intimate moments and anylise the comments .......or rather over anylise these comments . Personally , l just love the hilarious moments they share together .

This was recorded in case they could use something for that year's Xmas record. When Paul said he came back from Olympia and let the torch, he was saying code for torching a joint.

I get something in me head, and all the walls of Rome can't stop me... You see Rocky Marciano, last night? I just got in from Olympia...I lit the torch... I will be pleased to see the earthmen, disintegrated... I'm sorry, sometimes I feel less than useless at these sessions...
