I adore this audio clip, as it not only displays the process of writing and practicing playing music before producing it, but it also displays how laid back and amiable the Beatles really were. Due to their abundant success many people consider them majorly professional, but often times it appears the exact opposite of that.

Definitely. When you think about the way they acted in interviews and even on stage (Royal Variety performance) it seems “edgy” even now, so back then they really must have been really shocking. Everyone was expected to be so clean cut and professional back then. They always kept that loose, fun element despite being probably the most famous people in the world

The only thing BRILLANT about the Beatles is the one and only Mr. Richard Starkey. !!!!!! There are some songs that groups don't do live on stage because of the massive amount of over dubbing, for fear that it just wouldnt sound like the studio version, agree? For instance, "Lady Madonna" the incredible DEEP driving sounds of the brass. Who were some of the Beatles " session musicisns"? Absolutely beautiful, just like "Wouldnt it be Nice" by the Beach Boys. !!!! Imaginary talent runs deep on both sides of the Pond!!!!!!

@@princepharhung3964 No "session" musicians. The Beatles played their own instruments....except for the occasional strings & horns. McCartney played piano and organ (as did other members). Come on, you can't compare the moral fibre of that generation born during or right after WW2 who went on to create basically the Reinassance Mark 2 with this bunch of kids (Millennials and Z-ers) who are: ignorant, self-entitled, illiterate, narcissistic, self-obsessed, solipsistic, superficial, vapid, vacuous, feeble, feeble-minded, churlish, petty, vengeful, talentless, greedy, materialistic, empty, cretinous, plain retarded (I could go on and on and on) etc. etc. etc. Not all their fault, it must be said. I mean, their parents (the Generation X-ers, my generation) have been such lousy educators, irresponsible and embroiled in worldwide mass neglect, they didn't realise they had created a monster. You will realise it fully when the kids will grow up and will occupy positions of responsibility for which they have never been primed for, not alerted. The Western world will look like the set of the prescient movie "Idiocracy":: everything fucked-up, crumbling buildings.....a mess....

@@antoniomartinez9840 no, no, I didn’t say that....I was just making some comparisons: the boomers who grew up with food rationing and only two pairs of trousers, in the middle of bomb sites, and created a social and cultural revolution (with downsides, sure, but with so many great points), and these weaklings who had everything handed on a plate to them, and are expressively going downhill. It is worth noting that the boomers grew up with a sense of community around them, and in large families where divorce was the very last resort. These poor z-ers grew up in enclaves decimated by alienation, loneliness, endemic drug addiction and single-parent households, which nowadays is the norm. But instead of fighting all the points of the social background that shunted them into this shitty situation, they have opted for embracing the illusion: the addiction to social media, reality tv, x-factor: it all breeds aggression , ignorance, superficiality and a “fuck you Jack, I’m all right” attitude. It is very bleak and I cannot see it getting better. At least the boomers tried to create alternative, self-sufficient lifestyles funded on respect and sub-division of tasks. I cannot see it happening with this lot....

Record labels are no longer as generous. The old tactic was to sign as many potential artists as possible, and invest in the ones that the public threw their money at. This helped the labels weed out the shitty artists, and the consumer got the best out of it. Nowadays, a selected group of artists are cherry picked - not by the public, but by the label - and are forced to play whatever spill their producers and lyricists give them. They're picked solely for their appearence, and once they're too old, it's bye bye. That's not to say that looks don't matter, the Beatles had to be good looking guys, but looks have since then become a far more dominant factor in artist investments. Atlantic Records, the label that previously signed Led Zeppelin and Ray Charles, signed Daniella Bregoli (A.K.A the catch-me-outside-girl) not too long ago. This gives you a good idea of how the record industry has changed. And I wouldn't put too much faith into independent artists, whether good or bad..

WE could of seen the way they looked and dressed that day and the RECORD LABELS/OWNERS/RECORDING SESSION EMPLOYEES would see it all years later as ADDED MATERIAL ON DISC AND VIDEO TAPES OR REISSUED ALBUMS!!!! I would say to this day with the TECHNOLOGY ABOUT THOSE ADDED MATERIAL DISC RECORDINGS those music session recorders and the GROUPS THEMSELVES ARE CURSING UP A STORM!!!!
@multiverser9585 Жыл бұрын
In those days, they had 'closed sessions,' meaning no outside people, including a film crew, allowed. This was mainly due to intense competition in the industry. If it got out, what they were up to, it would be copied and rushed onto the market ahead of their own release. Also, there was no such thing as portable video recorders (hadn't been invented yet) so having a film crew in all the sessions, as in Get Back, would have been hugely expensive. Super 8 home movies with no sound is all they could have done at the time.
