I did the 4 island sunset cruise from Ao Nang (Tup, Mor, Chicken and Poda) 3 weeks ago and we ended up on West Railey beach watching the sunset and having our dinner on the beach - it was amazing, better sunset views here than at Ao Nang beach which was also good. When I went to Railey first time round 5 years ago while staying in Ao Nang, I did go round the peninsula and it was awesome but I didn't climb up to see the viewpoint though because I pulled a muscle on my left leg at the time so climbing was a no-no but I'm all good now

Oh that’s amazing! I am so happy you were able to have that experience because it is life changing 😊 Oh no, hey at least you are good to go now!

@@ChaseforAdventure I'm not sure whether it was life changing for me but Thailand is my 5th favourite holiday destination after Maldives, Seychelles, Mauritius and Malaysia - and I have travelled to at least 30 to 35 countries (and 2 of them I didn't like LOL). My leg issue happened 5 years ago when I went to Krabi first time round and I just went there very recently and my left leg is absolutely fine but didn't get the time to do a bit of climbing as I had a tight schedule.

This hike looks dangerous, i really wanted to go there and then i read about this „road” to viewpoint but you guys made it look easy :D i might give it a go!
@ChaseforAdventure5 жыл бұрын
Haha I’m not gonna lie...it was nerve racking but the hike ended up being so much fun! I feel as long as you go slow and take your time on the hike you cut out a lot of the danger. It’s so worth it. Give it a go! 😁😜

I was there at Railay Beach a few weeks ago, and also climbed up to the viewpoint. It's well worth the effort for that stunning view. The climb is especially treacherous after a rainstorm the night before. I was wearing good walking shoes, but would never do it in flip flops. I saw the lagoon from the point high above it, and decided not to climb down to it over the slippery rocks. The map shows a viewpoint on the northern end of Railay Beach west, but I wasn't able to find that one.....Perhaps you can't approach it from the beach.....
@ChaseforAdventure5 жыл бұрын
Stephen that's awesome you were able to do the climb! Smart to never do it in flip flops lol When you saw the lagoon, does it have a set of stairs? When we went it was completly closed off so we couldn't even go to the entrance.

@@ChaseforAdventure I didn't climb down toward the lagoon, just saw it down below from the top. The climb down looked daunting, and I didn't want to risk it (since there had been a strong rain the night before, and everything was slick, even with my walking shoes). I understand that the bamboo ladder at the bottom is broken and that people are no longer allowed to go to the lagoon (fine 1000 Baht if they catch you). Apparently, some tourists fell and broke their legs. It was just a matter of time before it happened..... The Thai Government does seem to be cracking down on some of the daredevil activities in the area. The famous overhang at Tab Kak hang Nak has a wire fence blocking access now, although you can still get around this obstacle for that great photo. It's a long way down to the trees below if you fall from there.

That was definitely smart of you. That place gets so dangerous after even a light rain. Agreed it was just a matter of time. That I do happen to agree with because so many people have been getting hurt over the years. 😞

I'm legitimately curious on how a drone survives all of this adventuring.
@ChaseforAdventure6 жыл бұрын
Lol a lot of luck! Plus we have a camera bag that literally does not leave out sight! So it’s padded up all nice a tight. It’s actually super durable though. I had a guy one time look at it on the ground, and ride his bike straight at it. I literally had to launch it and send it into a wall. It somehow survived 😂

How long is the trek to the viewpoint?
@ChaseforAdventure5 жыл бұрын
So fast! It only takes about 30 minutes but it is dangerous. My friend and I did it again recently and got caught up there in a light rain and I was genuinely worried coming back down. The little amount of rain made it so slippery but as long as it’s dry you are golden!
