Hi Martin, Superliner cars are a fleet of cars made for Amtrak long distance trains. They have 1 door on each side of the car an are usually mostly silver, with the amtrak red, blue and white lines. Surfliner cars are a fleet of cars designed and built specifically for use on amtraks pacific surfliner. They are painted blue and silver. They are desined specifically for commuter service. Amtrak 785 goes to Goleta, returns the next morning as 768, then goes back to Goleta as 785.
