Just recently found channel - very enjoyable. As a (nearly) life long resident of the Jersey Shore, I would love one of your rides on/commentary videos on the North Jersey Coast Line. (the late and great New York and Long Branch Railroad, then part of the Pennsy) Lots of history there although much of the remnants of it gone a long time ago. I remember picking up my father from Red Bank before the platform was raised and seeing the Penn Central and Jersey Central branded locomotives. My father joked the coaches were so old they still had bullet holes from when Jesse James robbed the train. Please consider this. Thanks

You should try Macungie if you haven't been there before. Hmm I didn't know there was a hobby shop near the line. I should check it out sometime.

It’s about a 40 minute drive from Macungie to that shop it’s in Nazareth

When I was a young whippersnapper, I was born on Long Island. My favorite times were to play with my Lionel trains layout that took up the entire basement except for Dad's work shop & Mom's laundry room. All i remember is that we had 20 locomotives of various classifications, a couple of hundred cars, and the table that 10' x 45'. With all these trains and other stuff, my brother and me could spend endless hours after school playing with those trains. Another fun thing to do was to have a relative meet me at the Woodside LIRR station and we would go to FAO Schwartz in the city as they had one of the biggest model train layouts in the country. I would spend an entire afternoon there just watching. Then my relative would take me to Horn & Hardarert restaurant for dinner. My last favorite thing to do is that when I would visit my cousins in Sunnyside, I would walk over to the bridges that crossed Sunnyside Yards and just watch and watch and watch. When I got to be 8 or 9, mom and dad moved us out of state to the state of Texas. That's another story altogther. Nice videos JOE

Some friends of mine who are into model railroading have in excess of $80000.00 invested in the trains. You're only limited by what you have in your bank account.

Oh damn, I wish I would’ve known that you were going there! I work in one of those massive warehouse’s for Mack Trucks! I receive Mack Engines (MP7 & MP8)!! I would’ve loved to have meet you in person! I love your videos and I hope to run into you someday while rail fanning! Also, if you keep going down Route 100 towards Macungie you will up on the tracks again and to your right there is a gazebo there just for Rail Fans and you can get some great shots from there!

When I was younger, we would go to Dorney Park but I had no interest in the rides. I would generally watch Conrail trains on one of the lines that is now abandoned. I believe Dorney Park bought the land and extended it for the park and it's parking lot

Just to put on your calendar April 24th SEPTA is making changes to Regional Rail schedules. Don't know the details but I have conductor friends who gave me the information. Probably gonna be a large increase but I am not sure. I also know Comcast is opening up again downtown.

I recall in Conrail years max was 50. I saw that one train doing 60. Now it’s TCS. No longer ABS

Nice. At 5:18, was a little worried about the speed at which that train took that switch. I know it isn't a lot, but with all of that weight and the height of those beasts, gets me a lil nervous at times. Lol.
@3985uprr2 жыл бұрын
It’s a 40mph switch I’m told. I was standing right there. If something had gone wrong I wouldn’t have been home for breakfast the next morning.

If they ever restore passenger service from Reading, PA to NYC, that's the line the trains will probably run on. NS isn't very happy about that idea, because they say they don't have enough track to run passenger trains. I hope they work something out, because the only public trans from Reading to NY is a bus service that only runs a few times a week.

Well unfortunately the younger generation are now doing the virtual reality of model railroading now. Like Train simulator 2022 and Trainz 2022 and Run 8 train simulator. Because most of the young kids are now playing the games on there computers and game console systems and some of the train simulator gamers say. That model railroading is way too overpriced and way too over rated as well.
