+Amtrak and AWVR Fan Question ! in the Intro to your Video I Noticed that There is a BNSF Gevo Leading A Metrolink Train! Why is that? Error?

up4014 steam train fan The reason why a BNSF led that Metrolink is because of safety reasons. From December 2015-late October 2016, BNSF AC4400CW's were leading over cabcars. The cabcar was deemed to be unsafe after investigation of the February 2015 Oxnard derailment. Metrolink was then forced to come up with a decision to lease more locos and still have all current service trains running or use all the locos they have and cut the amount of service trains in half to run. Since cutting the amount of trains in half is a bad idea and would make inconvenient schedules to the passengers, they leased more locos and chose BNSF AC4400CW, but they were slow with putting BNSF locos on because they're not geared for passenger services. So they had to do some modifications to make it run for passengers and they also added ATS shoes on some to run on the Surfline since the Surfline requires that all equipment to have ATS shoes. Right now, all the BNSF's are returned to BNSF since the lease deal is over. The cabcars will also be fixed.

Oh yeah, and one more thing. That isn't a BNSF GEVO leading that Metrolink, it's an AC4400CW.
