I was at that museum when a train on the spiral that you see in the beginning was rear-ended HARD. The entire train was pushed off the tracks and hit a train that was entering the other track to wait for the train on the inside to go by. Luckily nothing was damaged, but the derailment was CRAZY! In case you are curious, this is how it happened: 1: First uphill train arrives at loop siding on inside to wait for down hill train to pass. 2: Second uphill driver thinks that first uphill train has gone past the loop and he will wait for downhill train at loop. 3: Second uphill train hits rear end of first uphill train, because the switch hasn't beet thrown yet. 4: First uphill train is pushed off it's track into downhill train.

Big Tony, 'bit late in the day to comment, but congrats on a well edited video with interesting angles, run byes and close ups. It got my undivided attention for the full vid and I'm glad I stayed to the end. Many thanks from Australia.

Very nice. I wish they would have weathered the SP units though.

At 06:35 the boxcar reads "SOLID CLOD instead of SOLID COLD". Love the scenes 22:38 and 27:27. They were awesome! Was the second unit a Southern Pacific "Cadillac" SD9?
@NightOwlModeler5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Fruit Grower's did one or two of those 'spoof' mech refrigerators as "Solid Clod". Athearn did a special edition set of two cars, one being a "Solid Clod" scheme in the late 1990s. NOM

(from Canada) Was the lettering on the FGE car (Solid Clod at 22:34) a printing error or was it a deliberate mistake. Very interesting, how many people have noticed this car? Great video, thanks for sharing.

Is the admission free? And do you have to be part of the club or is it walk in?
@NightOwlModeler5 жыл бұрын
Admission's not free, except on the 1st Tuesday of the month... the price isn't that much compared to places like SeaWorld or the San Diego Zoo.
