Americana band Railroad Earth saddled up to The Fillmore in San Francisco, CA for the band’s second show in two nights at the legendary Bay Area venue. Getting the sparks flying early in the first set with RRE staple tunes like “Bird In A House”, “Elko”, and “Stillwater Getaway”, the evening’s festivities were already off to a smashing start.
Midway through the second set, RRE welcomed none other than Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh to join in on covers of the Dead’s beloved “Terrapin Station”, “Crazy Fingers”, “Box Of Rain”, and a Railroad Earth original, “Spring-Heeled Jack”. Lesh, who had previously made another guest appearance with Railroad Earth at The Independent in April of 2005, wonderfully infiltrated the eclectic string band with his thunderous yet unassuming bass, adding an extra bit of flair to the Grateful Dead selections.
