I'll do you one better. So, back in 1967, the Norfolk and Western Railroad, known for hauling coal, ran a 500 car coal train, streching 4 miles long and had 6 EMD locomotives dispersed thoughout the train. 47,000 tons of West Virginia coal. The train traveled a distance of 160 miles , making it the longest freight train in US Railroad history.
