RAILROADER - Game PATCH / UPDATED Pax A.I. 🤖

A patch for 'Railroader' which released on the 3rd of February added a whole list of updates and fixes as well as one of the biggest, most asked for options - the ability to not have to babysit PAX trains.
We'll take a look at these new operations and how to set them up and go over the patch notes as well.

You can set how many minutes to wait in the settings. Anything between 1 minute and 30, from memory.

I know the Devs are working on AI to switch the points autonomously, to reach a fusee you have laid down on a different track. I imagine it's just a short step to get AI to do what you were going for.

For Observation headlight, enter the car, there is a switch above the back door.

What about the bell on the engine how do you control it from inside the engine or is it only controlled with the B key

Well when you were controling the engine and hit j it eventually said the rear light was full then dim so im guessing you can control it with j or turn it on manually by going to the car and turning it on engines have lights inside the cabin you can turn on as well by clicking them but the only thing i haven't found out how to do yet is control the bell from inside the engine

it waits for a while usually 15 mins there is a switch inside the observation car top left inside

Can you run passenger Trains using sandbox mode I could never get the passenger stations to accept passengers when I play sandbox mode

Cool stuff... Can someone help me get the painting or customizing the cars? Every time I try it sets to a whitish color and won't let me change it.

what ive noticed is passengers disembarking and loading seems to be a little bugged, it sometimes just doesn't load or unload passengers

What kind of computer do you have? Seems like your game runs quite a bit smoother than mine. I have a 1660 super, and it really slows down when there are a decent amount of cars on the track.

When the train stops at a station, it will depart after 10 minutes.

I don't have passengers AI (stop at the stations automatically), don't understand why. Previous is set (I load new versions). May be I use Steam Italy? I don't find menù? The channel is wow, tnxs 🚂❤

Maybe I am missing something but clicking 2 destinations and setting AI to road only sets up one run, then you have to click the station boxes again, this isn't AI Automating Passenger Trains, you must still babysit them anyway. If I click both Whittier and Ela boxes the Train on Road AI makes the run to Ela, drops the Passengers and then both checks vanish, it does not load and Reverse for Whittier and go there, it still will only cycle one way, that is the very same as before the patch. You still have to tell the AI to Load at Ela for Whittier by rechecking the Whittier Box, again Not Automated, unless it is one way orders, works Fabulously if one run per day is your thing, otherwise you are still going to get Interupted on your Freight Play Constantly. There is still 0 Automation where both directions are concerned as far as I can see.

Anyone else notice the whistle mod stopped working? Or was it just me?

Just re-extract the .zip into your Railroader folder and let it replace what it wants to. Worked for mine and it even remembered the whistles I had set. Did the same thing with Strange Customs and while it remembered the weathering levels on everything and randomly weathers spawned cars, there's an error that won't load the slider to allow me to manually adjust the v-condition

The AI hates stopping on an uphill. That happens to me all the time going east in Topton. The AI stops, drifts back. and tries to go forward to the stop point again.

I find it rather odd that when the AI stops with a train, it releases the train brake and holds only with the independent. That's likely an operational bug that needs sorted out.

@@kleetus92on flat ground that is prototypical passenger operations. Nothing wrong with it being programmed this way as it works at 9/10 station stops. They seem to be aiming for KISS while developing this game, and overall it’s worked well so far.

@@kleetus92 cars don’t release as fast as the locomotive and tender combo. The longer the train the longer the air takes to release.
