The EBT hopper holds 8 iron ore, but it does hold 10 coal. You can look it up with the in-game wiki by hitting (H)

There are multiple sizes of Iron Ore Cars. The largest takes 22.

You could push the loads up to the mine or run the engine backwards tender end leading then you won't have the need to use a turntable.

Cookie can run backwards, as it has a tender light, no need to turn, just run around.

It bothers some people to have the locomotive go backwards so for videos I usually turn it around. Off camera or on streams I just go backwards without even running around.

The capacities of the different cars are mentioned in the help section. Still weird how every hopper and gondola has the same capacity for coal and iron ore, except for the drop bottom hopper.

I think your turn round will give you issues , the fix would be more track before the turntable and a bigger one as your going to at some point run bigger engines and longer trains, Also a new return line to get to the other side of the cars joining away past the yard heading away form the mine would give more space for the train so you can hook the engine up for the return trip.

There is limited room on the shelf at the iron mine. That's why the turntable is where it is.

Just thinking but you could use the markers to align the turntable handle with to know when the track is aligned

Very slow roll by does work. It can stall out or take off easily. It's hard to get right.
