Railside Ride - Avontuur Narrow Gauge Railway Part 3 - St Albans to Witteklip

In Part 3 of the Railside Ride Series we start from the level crossing after the fenced off section we ended at in Part 2. We carry on down the line to Geduldrivier, past all the dairy farms in the area, until we eventually reach Witteklip station.
Sadly the adventure is once again ended by fences across the line, or has it?
Railside Ride is a series where we explore the Avontuur Narrow Gauge Railway. The world famous Apple Express operated on this line, with the final train running to Avontuur back in 2010. The line has remained unused for more than 13 years, and we compare some areas in current day to footage from the archives.

@@All4Xplores consider the narrow gauge Hex River tunnel , 1876 ? , monument to the train derailment , my grandfather survived this, as a dream this line should be restored . Love to see you 2 do your thing on this line , cheers D

Geduldrivier Halt / Station was named after the farm Gedult's River Farm granted to S. Du Preez on 15th May 1823. The farm section the halt / station is on was granted to George Curtis Billson on the 11th August 1899.

@@firefishy did the train ever stop there? Were there sidings and/or other facilities there at any stage? I find it strange that a station nameboard is up, but no platform, loading dock, buildings of any kind..
