Correction. The Dutch brought grapes to the Cape and were already making wine and Brandy when the French arrived. They brought with their French way of wine making along with some of their grape varieties but were not the first to introduce grapes and wine to the region. And nothing wrong with the Dutch history with regards to the French. Being persecuted in their own motherland France, were offered freedom and amazing land and opportunities in South Africa.

Wow, thank you so much for covering my home country so well! I especially like how you have shown me things I did not even know about my own country! Great that you stayed away from the usual tourist traps that are covered so much in many other travel videos. Love your easy going positive style and great photography!

There she is!! Savannah is looking good ... good day to roll & test out the upgrades. The wine estates surrounding just out of this world. Thank you Huguenots bringing grapes to South Africa. I would personally stay here longer... really enjoy South African wines. You're happiest on the seat of a motorbike,... i think your second happiest is in the middle of a fossil basin. 3 meter bear, holy smokes ... what a healthy laugh ... what a coastline with the drone. The drone shots are always special. Keep on to Namibia. Ride careful, stay safe ..

Many of the Huguenots also went to the Channel Islands (in the English Channel). My family, the Bisson family, was one of the original families to settle in Jersey. In Normandy the name was Buisson, but they changed the spelling when they registered their coat of arms. The shield contains a bush (Buisson in French) on an island... Buisson is the French word for bush.

Hy from Tyrol, Normally! Most of the Huguenots (in German: Hugenotten) went to Prussia, where they were incorporated quickly and successfully. That's why so many "original" Prussian families have french sounding names ...
